Student Conduct
Our learning areas must be a respectful and safe place for students to work, to experiment, and to learn. To
achieve these goals, students are expected to:
Come to class with needed materials,
Be respectful and to follow all safety guidelines,
Actively participate, and
Cooperate with others.
Students who do not follow these guidelines will be disciplined. In the case of repeat offenses, the
administration and the parents will be informed.
Academic Honesty
In accordance with ASOYs Academic Honesty Policy there are certain expectations for students in this
course. Instances of collusion and plagiarism will be referred to administration and be subject to the
consequences listed in the Academic Honesty Policy. Collaboration is encouraged in this course, because we
know students learn best when given opportunities to work together. For certain assignments collaboration is
not allowed, and I will do my best to inform you of this. It is important that you listen to/read directions
to determine if collaboration is allowed. If you are uncertain it is your responsibility to ask! If you have
further questions, please refer to the schools Academic Honesty Policy.
During the course of the class, you will work both in teams and individually. However, at all times, the work
submitted should be your original work. Academic dishonesty and cheating are not acceptable and will lead
to a failing grade and a meeting with parents and/or the administration.
Late Work
Homework, projects, reports and other assignments must be submitted on their due dates. Late work will be
penalized one grade level per day. Parents will be contacted if work is habitually late, or if large assignments
are late. Students will be required to stay after school to complete work that has not been submitted within 2
days of its original due date. Please see the full guidelines on pages 25-26 in the Student Parent Handbook.
