Sunday, September 13, 9:00 a.m. at St. Paul

Come as a family and eat Smores and learn about the changes for this year! They involve a new curriculum Explore the Bible, that will keep everyone on the same page (Pre-K through adult). The
same texts and stories will be adapted for all ages, and allow for more conversation and followup at home. If you havent been able to make the education hour part of your regular weekly
schedule in the past, this could be a great time to start!
Also new this yearkids can collect dog tag awards for learning things like the ten commandments or
bringing a friend to visit. There will be 12 different awards available.

Many thanks to those who are stepping up to teach and assist! We are still in need of a lot more help, so
please contact Chrissy French even if you can only commit to one month at a time.

Those 80 and over are invited to bring in a baby picture for our "Guess who?" Board.

Blessing of the Backpacks

Sunday, August 30
during both Worship Services
Students are to bring their school
backpacks to church.
We will bless them during worship in preparation
for the new school year.
*A special gift will be given to the carrier of each
backpack as a reminder that Christ goes with them
everyday.

Community Service Sunday..September 20 , 2014
8:45 a.m. regular Worship at St. John with communion
10:30 Sending Prayer at St. Paul, Sent to Serve Side by Side in the community
12:00 Gather back at St. Paul for a Picnic celebration, lunch provided
At 10:30, both congregations will meet at St. Paul for a sending prayer, and then extend our worship into the
act of serving others. We will be sent in small groups to a variety of local places where we will serve in
Christs name. Outreach activities will also available at St. Paul. Sign up on our Events Boards!
