1.1 What is the special feature of SINAMICS G120 drives as from V4?

S7 routing
Standard S7 routing is used to transfer data beyond a system's own network limits.
In this case, information can be sent from a transmitter (sender) to a receiver via
the various networks.
To do this, special device technology is required, which must provide this
functionality. The target station does not have to support the S7 routing function.
Note
A list showing the devices that support the S7 routing function is provided
at the following link:

1 Introduction
1.2 What is the difference between S7 routing and data record routing?
Data record routing
Data record routing represents an expansion of the "standard S7 routing", and is
used for drives, for example.
Data, sent using data record routing, in addition to the parameterization of the
communication devices involved, also includes device-specific information (e.g.
setpoints, limit values and similar). The field devices themselves do not have to
support data record routing, as these devices do not transfer the information
contained.
Note
The following link will tell you the preconditions that must be fulfilled for data
record routing:

The IBH Link S7++ can also be used as gateway for data records, which are to
be sent to field devices (DP slaves). This means that PGs/PCs, which are not
connected to PROFIBUS, and which therefore have no direct access to field
devices, can send data records to field devices via IBH Link S7++.

Configuration
Configuring the IE/PB PN IO Link and the IBH Link S7++ as data record
gateway is explained in the following chapters, when a SINAMICS G120 drive (as
from V4) is operated as PROFIBUS DP slave connected to a SIMOTION control
system.

Table 3-3
No.
Action
1.
It is assumed that a project with a SIMOTION control system and SINAMICS G120 has already
been created. Open the project in the STEP7 SIMATIC Manager engineering system.
2.
Insert a new station, type SIMATIC 300, and open its HW configuration.
3.
From the hardware catalog under SIMATIC 300 > Gateway, take the IE/PB PN IO Link
with firmware version V2.1 and insert it into the HW configuration.
11
3 Configuration
3.2 IE/PB PN IO link as network transition (gateway)
No.
Action
4.
As gateway, the IE/PB PN IO Link has an IP address and also a PROFIBUS address.
Assign an IP address as well as the matching subnet mask and select the already created
Ethernet subnet, to which the SIMOTION control system is also connected.
5.
Then assign a PROFIBUS address and select the PROFINET subnet that has already been
created, to which the SINAMICS G120 is also connected.
12
3 Configuration
3.2 IE/PB PN IO link as network transition (gateway)
No.
Action
6.
The data record routing (gateway) function is already activated as default, and when required, can
be deactivated or activated by double-clicking on IE/PB PN IO Link under the Options >
Activate data record gateway tab.
7.
In NetPro, the IE/PB PN IO Link has been created as gateway between Ethernet and
PROFIBUS.
8.
The IP address configured in HW Config must now be assigned to the IE/PB PN IO Link. Via
PLC > Ethernet > Edit Ethernet Node open the window to browse the Ethernet network.
13
3 Configuration
3.2 IE/PB PN IO link as network transition (gateway)
No.
Action
9.
Browse the Ethernet network for Ethernet nodes using the Browse button, and then select IE/PB
PN IO Link. Enter the IP address configured in HW Config, and assign this using the Assign
IP Configuration button.
10.
11.
12.
Then change to the SIMOTION SCOUT engineering system, and there, open the properties of
SINAMICS G120 (Right-click > Properties).
14
3 Configuration
3.2 IE/PB PN IO link as network transition (gateway)
No.
Action
13.
Change over the access point from DEVICE to S7ONLINE. You can access a window to select
online access by pressing the "Set S7ONLINE addresses" button.
14.
Under the Module Addresses tab, as gateway for SINAMICS G120 (PROFIBUS address 2),
select the IE/PB PN IO Link (IP address 192.168.0.2).
15.
Using the IE/PB PN IO Link as gateway, you can now establish an online connection to
SINAMICS G120 and parameterize this.
15
3 Configuration
3.3 IBH Link S7++ as network transition (gateway)
3.3
Table 3-4
No.
Action
1.
Insert the CD supplied with IBH Link S7++ in your PG/PC drive and double-click on
IBHAutorun.exe. You can install the IBHNet driver for the IBH Link S7++ under the
menu item Hardware/driver.
2.
After the installation, under Start > Programs > IBH softec GmbH > IBHNet > Manage
IBHNet stations open the window in which you can make the settings for IBH Link S7++.
3.
You can search for the IBH Link S7++ available in the network using the "IBH Link S7" button.
If several network cards are installed, in the next window select the network card that you wish to
use.
4.
Select IBH Link S7++ and open its settings using the "Settings" button.
16
3 Configuration
3.3 IBH Link S7++ as network transition (gateway)
No.
Action
5.
Activate the Configuration with NetPro option and transfer the configuration using the
"Save permanently" button. The IBH Link S7++ now behaves like a CPU, in which a
configuration from the HW configuration can be loaded.
6.
It is assumed that a project with a SIMOTION control system and SINAMICS G120 has already
been created. Open the project in the STEP7 SIMATIC Manager engineering system.
7.
Insert a new station, type SIMATIC 400, and open its HW configuration.
17
3 Configuration
3.3 IBH Link S7++ as network transition (gateway)
No.
Action
8.
The IBH Link S7++ is configured as SIMATIC CPU 412-2 PN with firmware V6.0.
First insert the Universal Rack UR2 (6ES7 400-1JA01-0AA0) and the Standard Power
Supply 407 4A (6ES7 407-0DA00-0AA0) in the HW configuration.
9.
As gateway, the IBH Link S7++ has an IP address and also a PROFIBUS address.
Assign an IP address as well as the matching subnet mask and select the already created
Ethernet subnet, to which the SIMOTION control system is also connected.
18
3 Configuration
3.3 IBH Link S7++ as network transition (gateway)
No.
Action
10.
By double-clicking on MPI/DP interface (X1) of the CPU, open the settings on the
PROFIBUS side. Change over the interface type from MPI to PROFIBUS.
11.
Then assign a PROFIBUS address and select the PROFIBUS subnet that has already been
created, to which the SINAMICS G120 is also connected.
12.
13.
19
3 Configuration
3.3 IBH Link S7++ as network transition (gateway)
No.
Action
14.
In NetPro, the IBH Link S7++ has been created as gateway between Industrial Ethernet and
PROFIBUS in the form of the SIMATIC CPU 412-2 PN.
15.
Now proceed in the same way as was described for steps 12-14 in Chapter 3.2.
16.
Using the IBH Link S7++ as gateway, you can now establish an online connection to
SINAMICS G120 and parameterize this.
