Gasoline/Diesel and olefin production in a refinery relies heavily on the efficient
operation of the Cat Cracker. Due to startup complexities, catalyst regeneration and
challenging erosive environments, proper selection of temperature instrumentation is
critical to reliability.

combination with longer five year runs, commonly results

in failed thermowells. Daily Thermetrics is a leading
provider of thermowells in all configurations, including
Stellite and other high hardness materials (spray and
fuse coating, weld overlay, solid bar). This ensures
thermowell integrity is maintained through the unit run
cycle. Daily Thermetrics can engineer shear-valve
assemblies to prevent process migration in the event of a
failure.

To monitor dip-leg conditions and prevent catalyst

clogging in the reactor cyclone during start-up, Daily
Thermetrics has developed designs for dip-leg skin
thermocouples to observe moisture content before
catalyst injection.

wall/skin temps on hot wall reactors,

Coking and/or plugging of the packed bed (wash-bed) section of the FCC Fractionator can occur with
maldistribution of process, resulting in dry zones. The use of Daily Thermetrics CatTracker has
become common practice to radially profile the temperatures in the wash-bed and/or below the
distributor header, giving operators complete information to proactively detect and react to these
challenges.
Maximum FCC catalyst performance and service life is achieved by utilizing Daily Thermetrics
patented CatTracker temperature system in the Gas-Oil Hydrotreater. The CatTracker system, which
provides unparalleled reliability and accuracy, is endorsed by all major process licensors. The
CatTracker system is also valuable in the reactor stripper section and gas concentration unit
