Unofficial First Day Cover: A cover mailed on the same day of a new issue, from a city NOT where the stamp

Cachet: Writing, pictures, or designs on the left side of a first day cover, related to the new stamp being issued.
Hand Painted Cachet: A cachet done by an artist on a first day cover. These are usually very valuable because they
are original works of art.
