A mangrove is a tropical marine tree.

Mangroves have special aerial roots and salt-

filtering tap roots which enable them to thrive in brackish water. Brackish water is salty
but not as salty as sea water. Mangrove trees are commonly planted and found in coastal
areas. Mangroves can serve as walls of protection for natural disaster in coastal area like
tsunami. According to BBC News, healthy mangrove forests had helped save lives in the
Asia disaster tsunami and people tended to respect these natural barriers even more,
especially after the tsunami.
There are several species of mangrove tree found all over the world. Some prefer more
salinity, while others like to be very-close to a large fresh water source such as river.
Some prefer areas that are sheltered from waves. Some species have their roots covered
with sea water every day during high tide. Other species grow on dry land but are still
part of the ecosystem. The Times of India reported that rare species of mangrove had
been found and was also known as the looking-glass tree, probably because the leaves are
silver-coated.
Mangroves need to keep their trunk and leave above the surface of the water. Yet they
also need to be firmly attached to the ground so they are not moved by waves.
Any part of root that appears above the water flows oxygen to the plant under water
surface. as the soil begin to build up, these roots procedure additional roots that become
embedded in the soil.
The first cloned dog was born at some cost, and there needn't be many more. An Afghan
hound born in South Korea in June adds dogs to the small list of animal species that have
been successfully cloned (see Dogs cloned from adult somatic cells ). The birth marks
another first for the Korean-based group that cloned the first human embryos last year.
The development has some scientific significance, on account of the emerging
importance of the dog as a model for the study of certain aspects of human genetics,
development, behaviour and disease..

A dog genome project is being undertaken by a US team, and the cloning of dogs could
provide an additional tool for researchers.. The number of cloned dogs that will be
needed for such research is probably small, however. Scientists such as Elaine Ostrander
of the US National Human Genome Research Institute, head of the dog-genome project,
do most of their work with pets living at home, not with kennels of animals bred for
research. So the ability to clone dogs is unlikely to have more than a marginal impact on
how such research is done

Cohorts of cloned dogs could potentially be used to study the respective influence of
genes and environment on particular traits, however. And if it were possible to derive
embryonic stem-cell lines from cloned dog embryos — something that's so far only been
done in mice and humans — then canine diseases could be studied more easily in Petri
dishes, perhaps providing insights into disease mechanisms and even identifying new
therapies. Deriving embryonic stem cells would also pave the way to therapeutic cloning
in dogs — perhaps providing a useful animal model for research into human health. The
initial dog-cloning experiment has proven the process to be remarkably inefficient,
however, with only two live births — and one survivor — from a total of 1,095 embryos
implanted in 123 surrogate mothers.. This offers scant prospects for commercial pet
cloning, the application of the work that the media is likely to make a fuss about. It is
unlikely that even the most obsessive pet owner would contemplate preparing more than
100 failed pregnancies for just one successful birth — especially when there is no
guarantee that the cloned dog will behave like the one they hope to duplicate. In such
circumstances, the cloning of dogs for pet owners remains ethically indefensible. The
Korean researchers named their new dog Snuppy, for Seoul National University puppy
(one can almost imagine the name being chosen — presumably on a conference call with
the university press office).Let us wish him a long and happy life and hope that now that
the concept behind the birth is proven, dogs are cloned only when strictly required for
research purposes, and that effort is concentrated on work that carries the most likely
rewards for canine and human health.
We have three family pets: a dog, a cat, and a tortoise.

The dog’s name is Benjamin. He is big golden Labrador. He is beautiful. He has big
brown eyes and a long tail. He is very friendly dog, but he is sometimes a little stupid.
Dogs are expensive to keep but they are fun to play with.
Our cat is named Martha. She is quite young, but she is not a kitten. She is very pretty.
She has black and white fur and green eyes. She’s smart, too and very clean.
The tortoise’s name is Rocky. He has short, fat legs, a long neck, and a very hard shell.
He is also very old and slow. He’s ugly and dirty, but I like him.

UjungWater Palace which by
the local people is called as
Taman Soekasada. Ujung was
built in 1919. However the
launching of this complex of
water palace was performed in
1912. The water palace was
constructed by the late King of Karangasem, I Gusti Bagus Jelantik
between 1909 and 1945. Actually, this palace was built to welcome
and serve important guests and Kings from neighboring countries,
besides for the pleasure of the King and his royal family. Taman
Soekasada Ujung took place at Tumbu village, Karangasem district. It
is approximately 85 km from Airport Denpasar and 5 km from
Amlapura. In Taman Soekasada Ujung, you will see beautiful nature
panorama. It is one of cultural tourist object that is famous in Bali.
Taman Soekasada Ujung has been announced to be cultural tourist
objects because of cultural heritages exist in Karangasem regency. The
place was protected and kept by the government. In Taman Soekasada
Ujung, you will see the architecture that is still exist until now. The
complex of this water is the combination of Balinese and European
architectures. There are three big and large ponds inside the area. In
the middle of the main pond, there is a building that connected to the
edge of the pond by 2 bridges. On the highest level of this complex, we
will find a great statue of ”warak” (rhinoceros). Under the statue, there
is a Bull statue. From this high place we will see a marvelous view of
sea, hills, and green forest. The beauty of Mount Agung combined with
the green terraced rice fields are the amazing panorama that will make
your heart falling in love with this palace. The greatest of Ujung Water
Palace had been destructed by the explosion of Mount Agung which
was made worst by the great shake happened in 1979. And then, the
recovery had been performed to bring back the glory of this complex
of water palace by holding a reconstruction and revitalization project
on it. Although it is not as great as it was, the beautiful panorama can
be seen here this moment. Now day, Tourism activity in this area is
supported by the available of food stalls, small restaurants and quite
large parking area. Visitors who are interested in local crafts product
can find some of them in art shops available here.
