Write about a place you have recently visited:

Since I was a little boy, I have always dreamt of going to an exotic area or an astonishing

place that mesmerize me. Even today, my mind still flies to the Danube Delta, a magnificent
reservation that I had the opportunity to visit last year and that impressed me by its breathtaking
sceneries.
Situated in the south-eastern part of Romania, the Danube Delta is the second largest
river delta in Europe, after the Volga Delta and it is the best preserved zone on the continent.
Undoubtedly, the Danube Delta is considered to be one of the most resplendent places in the
world, a tourist attraction where millions of people go to have fun and relax in the middle of the
savagery and close to the untouched nature.
Firstly, this fascinating wonderland made me perceive it from the perspective of a
nostalgic traveller, ravished by the beauty of such an ideal place projected in a past untouched by
the imperfections of history, or in a future where man finds himself in a lost paradise as a result
of divine intervention. This lost paradise appeared for me under the form of Arcadia, a kind of
Eden or even Heaven.
Secondly, this superb territory impressed me by its appearance. The Danube Delta
looks like a human establishment, guiding you into a journey sprinkled with natural islands,
hiding the remotest corners in the world, lonely forests and incredible wildlife. Obviously, I
discovered that it was worth admiring the natural landscape and go fishing, an activity that Im
simply fond of.

Moreover, I was so delighted to visit the three branches of the

Danube: Chilia, Sulina and Sfantu Gheorghe that proved to be so compelling for me: the net of
channels, the brooks and the pounds that I could see, transformed this trip into an unforgettable
experience. Wherever I looked, I could see floating islets covered by rush and reed, rainforestlike lianas, lakes with muddy depths and numerous surfaces carpeted by water lilies.
Definitely, I couldnt stand taking pictures, so I tried to
capture the silent boats of fishermen, the countless pelicans, the beautiful flocks of cormorants
and moor hens in their nests that could be hardly noticed due to the thick reed curtains.
All in all, the obvious conclusion to be drawn is that
visiting the Danube Delta was the experience of a lifetime, a journey that made me become
aware of the beauty of our country. The cherished moments that I could live during the sunny

days spent in the Danube Delta will never be forgotten and I will always think of the delta as a
realm of reed and a safe refuge for many rare species of birds, fish and animals.
