Biztrak Installation - MSB 12 SP#5(12.0.5.0)
Important:
This service pack ONLY applies to Biztrak MSB 12.0 and above. ALL
enhancement, new features and fixes made in Biztrak MSB 12 Service Pack(s)
had been incorporated into this version.
Make a complete up-to-date backup of your database before installing the new
version. As part of the installation, older Biztrak MSB Edition database will be
upgraded. (The upgrade may take a number of hours to complete depending on
your database size and system configuration)
Shut down Biztrak Server and logout from Biztrak program before installing the
new version.
This procedure covers:

A. Backup Biztrak Database

1. Exit from Biztrak program.
2. Go to "Start" "Program""Biztrak" select Database Utility" option.
3. From Biztrak Database Utility window, select Backup Database" icon to

launch Database backup wizard window.

Select Data Source Name radio button.

Enter User ID and Password.
Select Environment as "Biztrak DB".
Backup To i.e. c:\biztrak\DB\Backup_20090622175617 (date of today,
easier to identify) OR follow the defaulted filename given.
e) Select Continue to use the original transaction log radio button.
f) Click OK button.
4. When a message prompts to ask whether to create a new directory, click Yes
button.
5. After backup process completed, click OK button and Close button.

B. How to install (or upgrade) Biztrak MSB 12.0 Service Pack#5

1. If the DVD-ROM is not in your computer's DVD-ROM drive, insert the DVDROM.
2. To start installation, select and double-click MSB12.0 folder from your
computer's DVD-ROM drive, below window appears.
3. Double-click BiztrakMSB120SP5.exe from the window, the Welcome window

appears.
4. Click on Continue button.

a) Unpacking Biztrak MSB 12.0 Service Pack#5 window appears.

b) Setup window appears.
c) Biztrak Setup window appears.
5. Click Next to continue installation. The Software License Agreement window

appears, as shown. Click Yes to continue installation. (Ensure the current database
is being backup).

6. Another message box appears to re-confirm, as shown. Click Yes if the current
database has been backup.
- OR Click No if the current database has not been backup where at the same time,
setup will exit installation.
7. Click Yes to continue installation.

8. The Biztrak Setup Progress window will appear.
9. Once setup is complete, the Setup Complete window appears.
10. Click Finish. You have successfully installed the above service pack.

C. How to register Biztrak MSB Edition

1. Go to "Start" "Program" "Biztrak" select Biztrak Registration" option.

Reminder:
If you have the multi-user copy, you need to register each Biztrak application that
you've installed on the client computers
The Biztrak Registration window appears. Click the Browse button.
The Select License File window appears.
Select biztrak.lic file, then click Open.
The Biztrak Registration window displays the license key information. Click
OK button.
A message appears to inform you that registration has been successful. Click OK
button.

D. Upgrade Biztrak Database

2. From Biztrak Database Utility window, select Upgrade Biztrak" icon to

launch Upgrade Biztrak database wizard window.
a) Select Data Source Name radio button.

b) Enter User ID and Password.

c) Select Environment as "Biztrak DB".

d) Click OK button.
3. Click OK button when system prompts the Database Upgrade message to
upgrade your Biztrak Database Version to 12.0025.
4. After upgrade completed, click OK button and click Close button

E. Upgrade Biztrak Help

2. From Biztrak Database Utility window, select Upgrade Biztrak Help" icon to
launch Upgrade Biztrak help wizard window.
a) Select Data Source Name radio button.

b) Enter User ID and Password.

c) Select Environment as "Biztrak DB".

d) Click OK button.
3. After upgrade Biztrak help is completed, click OK button and click Close button
to exit from Biztrak Database Utility program.
