Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fea

'' When your mind is governed by the Spirit, there is life and peace ! ''

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is
life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not su

t please God.

1. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a buil
ding from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile w
e groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when
we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we gr
oan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed i
nstead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by
life. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has gi
ven us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the
body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are conf
ident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lor
d. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or a
way from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that
each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whe

God has a very simple guideline for us. If we follow this principle, we
will be successful and we will please God in all we do. It is, do all things
in the name of Jesus.
This should not sound or be difficult for us to do, do you think? It
may be if we have never tried doing it, so lets start with some of the basics.
Whenever we pray, we should pray in the name of Jesus. This
should be an easy one for some of us, unless you were like me and did
not notice it the first time you read the Book of John , because Jesus
Himself suggested it (John 14:13-14). Whenever we give God thanks, thank
God in the name of Jesus. Whenever you ask for God to help you, ask in the
name of Jesus. Praying in the name of Jesus tells God we recognize His
authority in all things. This tells God we are more interested in doing God s
will than our own. Gods favor rests on us because of what Jesus did for us,
not because of anything we have done. Jesus deserves all the credit.
One more thing we should know, Please do not think that the name of
Jesus is magical, as if God is going to bless us just because we use it. God
will bless us because we acknowledge Jesus rightful place as the Lord of
our lives.

hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is writ
ten: For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be s
laughtered.
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him wh

We, God s children, try too hard sometimes to make Christian life attract
ive. In fact, that s why some people never completely trust God. Some have been
told that having a personal relationship with God is easy, that all their troubl
es in life will disappear, and a life of prosperity and health awaits them if th
ey just have enough faith. Show me in the scriptures where it says that, I can t
ell you from what I have read in the Bible and other Scripture based materials G
od never said that! .
So some people make a verbal commitment to Jesus Christ, though their hear
ts are not in it. After a while, they realize this life of faith is anything but
easy.
The truth is, there is no guarantee you ll have an easy life when you put
your trust and faith in God. Quite the opposite may be true. In fact, if you are
following God with all of your heart, you should expect criticism, insults, and
false accusations. It is a sigh that you are doing what God is saying for us to
do.
If you are suffering in any way because of God, take heart. You re taking
your relationship with God seriously.

I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. I spread o
