Abstrak

Kajian ini merupakan satu penyelidikan tindakan yang dijalankan ke atas 54 orang pelajar
tingkatan 4 di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan SANZAC, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Tujuan
kajian adalah untuk mengenalpasti keberkesanan pembelajaran koperatif dalam
meningkatkan kemahiran berfikir pelajar dalam pengajaran-pembelajaran mata pelajaran
Ekonomi Asas. Perbandingan dibuat antara dua kumpulan, Kumpulan Kawalan dan
Kumpulan Eksperimen yang diajar menggunakan pembelajaran koperatif menunjukkan
kebolehan dan prestasi ujian yang lebih tinggi daripada Kumpulan Kawalan walaupun
perbezaan antara dua kumpulan itu tidak seberapa signifikan.[Kandungan]

Abstract

This proactive action research details the journey of learning by both the lecturer and
trainee teachers in using concept mapping and the IHMC Concept Mapping Software in
enhancing learning skills. They discovered the joys of inquiry-discovery, independent
learning, paperless processing of information and cooperative learning and working with

Abstrak

Sikap pelajar yang malu dan tidak berkomunikasi merupakan punca kajian ini dijalankan.
Kajian ini bertujuan merangka satu strategi yang dapat mengubah sikap pelajar semasa
proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Refleksi awal guru pelatih
menunjukkan ketegasan pensyarah menyebabkan timbul rasa takut dan malu di kalangan
mereka untuk bertanya. Strategi bau dirangka dan dilaksanakan untuk mengatasi masalah
tersebut. Mereka akan berkongsi masalah pembelajaran dengan rakan sebaya secara
terpimpin. Kaedah rawatan peribadi disediakan untuk mengelakkan rasa malu dan peluang
perbincangan secara personal diberikan untuk meningkatkan keyakinan mereka. Instrumen
kajian dijalankan melalui kaedah pemerhatian, analisis dokumen, refleksi guru pelatih dan
refleksi pensyarah. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan terdapat perubahan positif di kalangan
guru-guru pelatih semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran dilaksanakan. [Kandungan]

Prologue

If the world's a stage then let life's drama never cease to amaze. This article is a sharing of
thoughts feelings and experiences seen from different perspectives. Some conclusions are
made as to the value of dramatisation and the reinterpretation of Shakespear's play.
Readers are also invited to arrive at their own conclusions because this sharing is based on
past experiences and how these past experiences have influenced future actions. The data
that is highlighted has been taken from students' drama logs, reflections of the director, the
drama critique and the advisor. The students from the TESL Foundation Programme Cohort
One have agreed to their work been incorporated in this write-up. The TESL Foundation
Programme is a two-year programme and Gaya will see five cohorts of students who will
undergo this foundation programme before they can proceed into the degree programme.
Each cohort will comprise of twenty-five students. This sharing is hoped to prompt the
resurgence of drama as a major feature in Gaya's yearly calender of activities.[Kandungan]

Local Studies Project: Organizing An Interactive Exhibition

Abstract

This research aims to study the organizational skills of teacher trainees in setting up an
interative exhibition on Local Studies as a process from planning, implementation and
evaluation. The respondents comprise Semester V trainees whose minor subject is Local
Studies. They have to fulfill course requirements by planning and implementing a project
which is the interative exhibition. The study relies on qualitative and quantitative data to
support the findings. The findings show that trainees have learnt organizational and
cooperation skills essential to the success of setting up an interative exhibition.[Kandungan]

Abstract

This is a study attempting to understand some of the literacy practices of a secondary


school student focusing on the writing activities that surround the use of writing
conferences. The learner was a seventeen-year-old girl who was not a keen writer.
However, by providing a real context which the learner could relate to and by conducting
writing conferences with the learner, I began to gain a whole new perspective on how I
could help my learner develop her writing skills.[Kandungan]

Abstract

This descriptive survey aimed to find out the readiness of pupils, teachers, and teacher
trainees in teaching and learning of Mathematics as perceived by KPLI trainees during
practicum. On the whole the teachers and pupils were perceived by the trainees to be fairly
ready in teaching and learning of Mathematics in English. The trainees indicated their

Abstract

This essay is an exercise in academic writting, reflecting on the professional development


needs of a teacher as he/she goes through the phases of professional development,
especially from the early teaching phase to the late teaching phase. Development needs
may be viewed in terms of individual needs and the needs of the institution.

This discussion focuses on ways to professionally develop teachers in remote areas at three
levels, i.e. at school level, department level, and at the individual's level. It was felt that
within a structure developed for professional development, support, leadership and the right
attitude were necessary ingredients towards educational improvement for both the whole

Abstrak

Penulisan ini menfokuskan peranan kepimpinan instruksional atau merujuk kepada


kepimpinan pengajaran yang dilaksanakan oleh pihak pengurusan sekolah. Kepimpinan
Instruksional adalah proses pengurusan kurikulum yang melibatkan aktiviti perancangan,
pengelolaan, pelaksanaan dan pengawasan terhadap kualiti kurikulum di sekolah bagi
membentuk sekolah cemerlang. Pengurusan kurikulum adalah merupakan 'core business'
bagi pihak pengurusan sekolah dalam usaha mereka untuk merealisasikan matlamat
sekolah berkesan. Namun begitu tidak semua pengurus sekolah dapat menumpukan kepada
kepimpinan instraksional sebagai agenda utama mereka kerana beban tugas pengurusan
dan pentadbiran. Hasilnya tidak semua sekolah berada pada tahap kecemerlangan yang
dihasratkan oleh kerajaan. Tujuan esei ini adalah untuk meninjau kajian-kajian tentang
kepimpinan instraksional yang diamalkan oleh pengurus-pengurus sekolah di dalam dan di
luar negara dan hubungannya dengan pencapaian sekolah. Secara keseluruhannya, hasil
kajian-kajian berkenaan menunjukkan bahawa tumpuan yang lebih pihak pengurusan
sekolah terhadap kepimpinan instraksional telah memperlihatkan hasil yang positif terhadap
pencapaian pelajar dan kecemerlangan sekolah.[Kandungan]

Penulisan ilmiah ini membicarakan aplikasi morfologi Propp dalam cerita lipurlara Melayu
Sutan Baginda yang dituturkan oleh Encik Ghani Mohd. Ali (1962). Seterusnya cerita
lipurlara ini dapat memenuhi kerangka sebuah cerita lipurlara yang baik seperti yang
dikemukakan oleh A.H. Krappe.[Kandungan]
