website. Please note that any changes of these information will be announced from Division of Academic Affairs. Course

Registration

ATOMS portal site

Go to the AATOMS portal siteA https://csw.aiu.ac.jp/campusweb/ and register at Course Registration / View
Registration Status, then print out and keep the courses registered.
Graduate students who wish to register for undergraduate courses are required to submit a copy of Advisor Approval
Form to the Division of Student Records.
Students who pre-registered for all courses to wish to take do not need to register again during the Registration period.

3 parts of registration sessions (Drawing Stage, Wait List


Stage, Cap Limit Stage) and the results of registration will be announced at the end of each stages.
Registration consists of

There will be a drawing, a wait list or a cap limit stage for all courses which exceeds a cap.
Capacity of non-capped courses are determined by the capacity of classroom.
EAP students must follow the schedules will be announced later.

Drawing Stage :
Only available for students older than third year (whose ID start with B08 to B13)
And International exchange students
August 26 (Wed), 4:00 p.m. August 29 (Sat), 12:00 p.m. (Drawing)
Not applicable to courses which became full during the Pre-registration period.
Please refer to page 3 Courses with Cap, and page 5.

Wait list Stage : Available for all students


August 30 (Sun), 12:00 p.m. September 9 (Wed), 5:00 p.m. (Wait list)

Cap limit Stage: Available for all students


September 9 (Wed), 6:00 p.m. September 10 (Thu), 5:00 p.m. (Capacity limit)
To aggregate applications, the Registration website will be closed between
12:00 p.m. August 29 - 12:00 p.m. August 30, and 5:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. September 9.

Application for Priority Sheet Online


Application Period: August 26 Wed 4:00 p.m. August 29 Sat 12:00 p.m.
If there are any special reasons that you need to register for the course in this semester, please go to the ATOMS
portal site, Survey, and submit Application for Priority Sheet. (This will not guarantee your registration.)

Retake Application Form In case of retaking courses passed with D+ or above


Only students enrolled in AY2013 and before
Application Deadline: September 10 Thu 5:00 p.m.
Students enrolled in AY2013 and before
Student who has passed the course with a grade of D+ or above may retake any course, except EAP course, when
the Dean of Academic Affairs approves. Please do not forget to submit the form with the signature of the Dean of
Academic Affairs to the Division of Students Records if you wish to retake the course with grade of D+ or more.
Please note that you cannot retake the course without the form. (If you retake the course which you failed
or passed with a grade of D, you do not have to submit the form.)
Students enrolled in AY2014 and after
Student who has failed the course with a grade of F and passed the course with a grade of D may retake any
course. (You do not have to submit the form.)
However, a course can be retaken up to two times.

Notice Regarding Web-Registration


Drawing Stage
If a capped course becomes full during the Drawing Stage period, drawing will take place after the period.
Go to the ATOMS portal site and confirm the results of drawing at Course Registration / View
Registration Status.
The students who were pre-registered will not be affected by the drawing at Registration period.
A drawing may be held for a non-capped course if the enrollment over the capacity of classroom.
Due to a functional reason of the system, the message [waiting for lottery] will be shown in all
classes in your registration schedule, but drawing will be held only when the enrollment filled over
caps or capacity of classroom.

<Priorities at the drawing>


Priorities for registration of capped courses are:
1. Students graduating in this academic year
2. Students who have been enrolled at AIU longer
In case of retake, priority for registration is lower than other students
who take the course for the first time. Priority for senior students remains the same.
If you have any special reasons to be considered for priority, please submit the Application for Priority
Sheet. Please refer to Documents to be submitted, for further details.
Wait List Stage
Waiting list is available during this stage. Students can register for the courses if there is a vacancy
in the course. Students cannot register for the course if there is no vacancy in the course by the end of Wait
List Stage period.
The Waiting list will be deleted at September 9 (Wed) 5:00 p.m. After the Wait List Stage ends, you can
confirm the results of registration at Course Registration / View Registration Status.
Please confirm and print out the courses registered after the results of registration is finalized.
Cap Limit Stage
Registration is available until students reach the capacity during this stage. Students can register for the
courses if there is a vacancy in the course.
Students cannot register for the course if there is no vacancy in the course by the end of Cap Limit Stage
period.
At September 10 (Thu) 5:00 p.m., after the Cap Limit Stage ends, you can confirm the final results of
registration at Course Registration / View Registration Status.
Please confirm and print out the courses registered after the results of registration is finalized.

Class Hours
Students must not register for courses which have overlapping class hours.

Grade of I (Incomplete)
Students who have received a grade of I (Incomplete) shall not be registered for the course again.
Please follow the instructors instructions, and complete the assignment by a prescribed deadline.
The instructor may decide that a student has to attend all classes in the next semester in order to
complete the course.

Courses with Cap


In case of courses became full during the Pre-Registration period, additional registration cannot be
accepted during the Drawing Stage period.
Note that students can drop courses during the Drawing Stage period. When

Approval of Exemption from Credit Limitation


To register over the credits you have been approved during Advising Week.
Students cannot register for the courses more than the credits you are approved by your Academic adviser
via the ATOMS portal site. If you need to register for the courses more than the pre-approved credits,
please consult and receive the approval on ATOMS from your academic advisor again.

Courses needs attention


CCS200 Internship
Students must register for CCS200 in the semester that they give their presentation.

SADO / SHODO / KADO


For SADO, SHODO, and KADO classes, students can choose A-F grade evaluation (JAS110/ 120/ 130)
or P/F grade evaluation (JAS111/ 121/ 131). Students can register only for A/F grade evaluation via the
ATOMS portal site. Please apply to the Division of Student Records if you wish to register for P/F grade
evaluation after you registered for A-F grade evaluation via the ATOMS portal site.

JPN Courses
Degree-seeking students who are willing to register for JPN classes in Spring Semester 2015, need to
contact with Prof. Akiko Sugiyama, a head of Japanese Language Program, to obtain approval from
her for registration. (Except for the courses you have already pre-registered.)

Courses for the Teachers License Program TLP


Courses with TLP in their course codes are primarily for students who registered for the Teachers
License Program, and all the courses with TLP in their course codes are evaluated on a P/F grade
basis. Other students can take these courses but their credits do not count toward graduation or credits
needed for study abroad except TLP310. If you wish to register for the TLP, please meet TLP faculty
member first and submit TLP registration form to academic affairs.

available only for students who returned from study abroad.
Please register via the ATOMS portal site as well as other courses.
Successful completion of GSP490 is required for registration of GSS 491-493.
