CONCLUSION

Based on my own observation to get more accurate results you need to measure the
measurement slowly and carefully to obtain better results. You may also measure along
the ground on a. But to obtain horizontal distances, you will need to correct these
ground measurements afterwards by using correct mathematical formulas. As additional
information, we must also apply the value of patience in making the task because the
location is outside so expect extreme heat or rain. Calculate all solutions properly and
make the distance measured more accurate. We need to be patient and follow all the
procedures carefully to make the measurement accurate.
The area of a certain land can be determined in many ways. Since some fields do not
have the same length or rectangle in shape it is hard for us to measure its area. In this
fieldwork we learned on how to use triangles in getting the area. Dividing the field in
triangles and by getting the individual area of the triangles using the base and altitude,
length of the two sides and the intruded angle and finally the length of each side of the
triangle. Fetting their individual we can get their summation to get the area of the field
we want. Applying also the lessons we have learned especially in pacing, we can
determine the area without any tools because we only need to know our pace factor.
It is important to use the plumb bobs in getting the plumb bob because the surface itself
is not really in horizontal state. You will be measuring a longer or shorter horizontal
distance if you will only plot the tape measure on the ground. As much as possible
reduce the sagging of the tape measure to make sure you can get more accurate
results. In the first part of the fieldwork, in order to get an accurate measure of the
altitude of the triangle you can use protractor to help you or an @-square to make sure
it is perpendicular to the line. It is difficult to assume the angle on the ground. 0or the
second part, it is easier to measure shorter distance for the semi triangle needed for the
data.
It is important to remember that what we data we got is not their true actual value
because if we remember there are also factors that change the length of the tape
measure and of one that is the tape measure, especially if you measure on a very hot
day. If possible the manual should also add additional polygon not only a pentagon so
that we can also try this method to other polygons.
APPLICATION
Determining the area of a polygon using only a tape is a simple method of
surveying. This method is generally applied for finding the area of a small and level area.
Since all measurements are actually made by the use of tape, surveying by this method
is more accurate than other methods. This is why considered an appropriate method of
surveying for large scale maps.

DISCUSSION
This is our second fieldwork that we did last Friday. In this fieldwork, were asked to
determine the area of a polygonal field using only the tape. In this fieldwork, the
polygonal field were about to determine is a pentagon.
The first thing we did is to mark 5 points, labeled it and connect it to create a
pentagon. And then, we divided the pentagon into 3 convenient triangular components
and named it as Triangles 1, 2, 3. The first method in determining the area of the
pentagon is by using the base and altitude method. We measure the sides of the
triangles and we computed for the length of the altitude to its base that is perpendicular.
We recorded the length of the base and the altitude that we gathered. We repeated this
process for the other triangles. After computing the areas of the triangles, we add the
area of each triangle and got its total area.
Next is determining the area using the formula A = 1/2(absin). We used the
same triangular field and then we measured two sides of the first triangular field and we
designated it as sides "a" and "b" of the triangle. Then we determined the included
angle that is between the two sides. And then we computed the area of the first triangle.
We repeated this process for the remaining triangles. After computing the areas of each
of the triangles, we add the area and got its total area.
The last method that we used to determine the area is the Heron's formula. Again,
we used the same triangular field and measured all three sides of the first triangular
field. And then we computed its area using the Heron's formula. We repeated this
process for the remaining triangles. After computing the areas of each of the triangles,
we sum up all the areas and got its total area.
