1.3 civil status;
1.4 highest educational attainment; and
1.5 length of service as school administrator?
2. What is the perception of the teacher-respondents regarding the evaluation practices
applied on them?
3. Is there a significant relationship between the teacher-respondents perceptions of the
evaluation practices applied on them in terms of:
3. 1 age;
3.2 age;
3.3 sex;
3.4 civil status;
3.5 highest educational attainment; and
3.6 length of service as school administrator?

achievements in terms of:
5.1 age;

5.2 sex;
5.3 civil status;
5.4 highest educational attainment; and
5.5 length of service as school administrator?
6. Is there a significant relationship between the teacher-respondents perceptions on
evaluation practices applied on them and their needs for achievement?
Hypotheses
01 : There is no significant relationship between the teacher-respondents perceptions of
the evaluation practices applied on them in terms of:
1.1 age;
1.2 sex;
1.3 civil status;
1.4 highest educational attainment; and
1.5 length of service as school administrator
02 : There is no significant relationship between the teacher-respondents level of need
for achievements in terms of:
2.1 age;
2.2 sex;
2.3 civil status;
2.4 highest educational attainment; and
2.5 length of service as school administrator
03 : There is no significant relationship between the teacher-respondents perceptions on
evaluation practices applied on them and their needs for achievement.

Scope and Limitation of the Study

This study will only include public elementary schoolteachers presently teaching in X
Significance of the Study
Results of this study would be useful to the following:
Teachers. The results of the study would encourage teachers to pursue anything that
would improve their teaching effectiveness through giving more emphasis on their weaknesses
and those which they feel less competent and ineffective.
School Administrators. The results of the study would serve as additional knowledge of
new directions and practices in teachers evaluation by school administrators and will provide
and ensue new development and changes in the current teachers evaluation practices.
Curriculum Makers. As an indicator of success, the new direction in teacher evaluation
would be pursued and promoted in education to lead towards a sustainable development program
in an educational center.
Future Researchers.

The results and findings of the study would encourage and

motivate more researchers to continue and replicate by proposing series of similar problems
initially and partially undertaken by the present researcher whose limitation did not cover such
data and information on teacher evaluation due to lack of time and resources.
Definition of Terms
Operational definitions of key terms used in this study are provided below to ensure
clearer understanding.
Achievement Anxiety. The term refers to a complex and sometimes chronic emotional
state generally characterized by fear, apprehension or tension (McClelland, 1999). In the study,

it refers to a motivation, in which the person is either encouraged or discouraged to act when
certain obstacle is on the way to divert someones interest to pursue his objectives.
Evaluation Practices. This term refers to the process of assessing the worth of a certain
commodity or services (Pennington, 2001). In this study, this refers to the standard policy of the
evaluation system of teachers employed in elementary schools in the X, Division of Y conducted
by school administrators as measured using the research instrument.
Level of Aspiration. The term refers to a desire to achieve something in life despite
difficulties (Thomas, 2002). In this study, the term refers to how well teachers at X, Division of
Y perform in the future, compared with how well they have done in the past according to ones
desire to improve as measured by the research instrument.
