KONTROL DAN KRITERIA DISAIN
“KENDARAAN DISAIN”

Kontrol kunci dalam disain geometrik jalan adalah karakteristik fisik dan
proporsi dari berbagai variasi ukuran kendaraan yang menggunakan jalan.
Dipilih beberapa kelompok kendaraan tertentu yang representatif dari sisi
dimensi dan karakteristik operasionalnya, digunakan dalam kontrol disain
jalan untuk mengakomodasi kelas- klelas atau grup jenis kendaraan yang
didisain akan menggunakan jalan, disebut ‘kendaraan disain’.
Untuk tujuan disain geometrik, tiap kendaraan disain memiliki dimensi fisik dan
radius berbelok minimum yang lebih besar dari kendaraan lain di kelasnya
masing-masing.

Untuk jalan bebas hambatan (freeway) biasanya diakomodasi kendaraan


disain terbesar.

Secara umum telah ditentukan 4 kelas kendaraan disain:


• Mobil penumpang
• Bus
• Truk
• Kendaraan rekreasi
