Waterfowl Day
is Saturday
Youth ages 15 and younger
can go waterfowl hunting this
Saturday, Sept. 12, on Youth Waterfowl Day, when accompanied
by an adult who isnt hunting that
day.
Youth Waterfowl Day is a
chance for young people to hunt
with an adult whos giving all
their attention to making sure the
youth walks away with a positive
hunting experience, said Mike
Kurre, mentoring program coordinator with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
During Youth Waterfowl Day,
hunters ages 15 and under may
take regular season bag limits
when accompanied by a nonhunting adult (18 or older), and
youth do not need a license or
stamps to participate. The accompanying adult may not hunt and
does not need a license. Ducks,
Canada geese, mergansers, coots
and moorhens may be taken from
a half-hour before sunrise to 4
p.m. Motorized decoy restrictions are in effect. Five geese
may be taken statewide. For more

CSAH 37 closed
for RR work
Sept. 14-17
The Canadian Pacific Railway will be repairing the crossing on CSAH 37 about
one-quarter mile west of the City
of Maple Lake. Work will begin
on Monday, Sept. 14, and is expected to be completed by the
end of the day on Thursday, Sept.
17. The crossing will be closed
to all traffic from 6:30 a.m. on
Sept. 14 until approximately
4:30 p.m. Sept. 17. If you have

Sportsmens Labor Day Shoot

For over 60 years the Labor
Day Shoot at the at the HastySilver Creek Sportsmens Club
has been an end of summer staple.
Chaired this year by members
Greg Thomes, Jim Nunke and
Michelle Knutsen, the club welcomed over 25 shooters, ranging
in age from 14 to 80+, along with
many family members, friends
and onlookers.
Annie Oakley and Back Your
Buddy were a few of the possible
contests, with prizes awarded at
the end of each round, and, for
the first time ever, Youth Only
rounds were included in the contest line-up, with a drawing entry
for a chance to win a Savage
model 62, .22LR semi-auto with
a scope included with every
youth round.

A year ago, Wright County

Commissioner Pat Sawatzke affirmed a belief that he has had
for several years that Wright
County is paying far too much
for the services provided by the
Tri-County Forensics Laboratory in Anoka that serves,
Anoka, Wright and Sherburne
counties. At the Sept. 1 meeting
of the county board, it would
appear that more commissioners are leaning in Sawatzkes
direction.
The Tri-County Lab has
been in operation since 2008
and recently received DNA accreditation. Following a meeting with the Minnesota Bureau
of Apprehension, which provides counties with evidence
examination for free, and the
Tri-County lab, Sawatzke asked
that the board again consider
pulling out of the collaborative.
He said Wright County pays 23
percent of the cost for the facility a figure determined solely
by population. During that time,
the usage from Wright County
has been between 4 and 15 percent, far less than the percentage of funding the county
provides.
Its a fact that Wright
County has been paying far
more than its share for the
crime lab since it was created,
Sawatzke said. In fact, statistics indicate Im shown them
to you and nobody has ever rebutted them as not being accurate that weve paid anywhere
from 600 percent to 50 percent

more every single time period

than our share of usage of the
facility. I think right now, we
pay about $367,000 (a year) to
the facility. When youre talking about $367,000 a year,
youre talking real money.
Sawatzke said that he
thought the county could use
the Tri-County Lab for casespecific incidences, but he was
told recently that the TriCounty Lab wouldnt allow
Wright County to go back to the
BCA and have some work done
piecemeal for a fee, although he
had been assured since 2007
that such work would be accepted.
We got into this as a threecounty partnership and I think
were paying more than our fair
share I know were paying
more than our fair share thats
not debatable, Sawatzke said.
I dont criticize the work of the
crime lab. I never have. Our law
enforcement and county attorneys office have always said it
has done well. Ive never criticized the work theyve done.
I think this board recognizes that were paying more
than our fair share. I know
theyre in a challenging position because theyve got their
sheriff that wants to stay with
this organization and they feel
the pressure of their peers from
other counties, but I think if we
take action to require that we
change the funding formula or
we will leave, cooler heads will
prevail on the other sides.

With the Labor Day weekend behind us, its time to think seriously about getting organized for fall activities. For me that means
giving Vanna a fall hairdo to keep pulling cockleburs to a minimum.
Her flowing tail is a built-in trait for English Setters, and while its
attractive, it seems like it is a magnet for attracting burs, and twopronged stickers (preachers lice), thistles and most any kind of
weed that likes to imbed itself and make a tangled mess of her tail.
Sometimes getting the cockleburs out, either from hunting or a walk
in the park, doesnt get done right away. When that happens she
takes matters into her own hands (more likely her mouth) and pulls
them out with her teeth. Shes not too fussy about where she spits
them out and about this time of the year the seeds have sprouted
from last fall and they have begun to grow in the lawn. I havent
gotten out to the Silver Creek Sportmans Park Tuesday evening
trap shoot, but thats another one of my get ready things I need
to do. My hunting companions, after witnessing my terrible marksmanship last year, are probably thinking the sooner the better! Some
people call it getting re-acquainted with your shotgun. Participating
in the annual dove hunt might be a fun way to sharpen the shooting
eye, and with some cool weather ahead of us, its a definite possibility. Checking out the hunting clothes is also on my list. Mostly
to see if they have shrunk over the off-season! Thats not likely to
be the problem, more likely its the fresh corn on the cob and other
fall garden produce. As my barber, now deceased, used to say, Im
not putting on weight, Im building up my strength. While those
things and planning hunts is going to take some time, its also necessary to remember fall fishing is something Id like to do more of
this year. A trip to Maple Lake and Cedar Lake were not productive
last week and Im at a loss for a good answer. One angler told me
to fish about a foot deep in 4-5 feet of water in the evenings for sunfish. .

in the world our children. Traffic safety is a two-way street and
everyone has an investment.
School Bus Safety Tips for
Motorists:
Motorists must stop at least
20 feet from a school bus that is
displaying red flashing lights
and/or its stop arm is extended
when approaching from the rear
and from the opposite direction

on undivided roads.
Red flashing lights on buses
indicate students are either entering or exiting the bus.
Motorists are not required to
stop for a bus if the bus is on the
opposite side of a separated roadway (median, etc.) but they
should remain alert for children.
Altering a route or schedule
to avoid a bus is one way motorists can help improve safety. In
doing so, motorists wont find
themselves behind a bus, and as

I watched Howard Lake defeat Waconia 2-1 Sunday behind the
strong arm of Shan Khan who pitched six scoreless innings. Manager Mike Gagnon called on Chris Hardie to finish. Waconia was
held to two hits, the Orphans had nine. A day prior to that game
Laker draftee Mitch Wurm started his second game in the tournament and cruised to a 9-4 win over New Ulm, pitching 8 1/3 innings. He had six strikeouts and allowed three earned runs. A double
play, short to second to first, ended the ball game which was highlighted by some great defensive efforts from the Orphans. Their
short-stop, Dan Wackler, is one of the best. Wurm shut out the
Brewers for four innings and held them to nine hits.
Sundays amateur baseball game between Plato and Nisswa was
rain delayed until 11 a.m. Monday with Plato winning 3-2. Howard
Lake was defeated by Green Isle 13-7 in their rain-postponed, semifinal game Monday when the roof caved in on them after leading
7-4 in the eighth inning. Pitching was crucial at this stage of the
tournament and a seven-run Green Isle rally in the ninth spelled
doom. Mitch Wurm, relieving starter Adam Koch, pitched four innings, and gave up three runs on four hits. He had one strikeout.
Green Isle continued their rally against Orphans stopper, Chris
Hardie, and Cokato draftee, Vinnie Pokornowski, adding six more
runs. Ironically, Green Isle had five errors, but their 15 hits erased
the miscues.
All in all it was a great tournament for the Orphans and draftee
Mitch Wurm who pitched their first two wins, 4-1 over Lastrup and
9-4 over New Ulm.
This years finalists, Plato and Green Isle, both came out of Region 7 where they finished first and second, respectively. In previous games Green Isle held a one-game edge 3-2, but an outstanding
pitching effort by Winsted draftee, Tony Kley, who struck out seven
and gave up three runs on three hits, made the difference and led to
a 14-6 win. He was named the tournament MVP. Plato pounded out
19 hits and had one error. Green Isles four -un lead, 6-2 after two,
diminished when Plato added six in the fifth, 10-6, and two more
in the seventh and another in the ninth.
The Watkins community can be proud of the efforts by the volunteers who did a great job of handling all the details that helped
keep the tournament operating smoothly, especially through the inclement weather.

speed with which criminals can
be identified taken off the
streets.
However,
Commissioner
Charlie Borrell countered that
until the forensics lab starts to
take in outside work to bring in
revenue and lower the costs to
the three member counties, the
same funding disparity will continue and it is a bad business
practice.
If theyre not ever going to
do piecemeal call it whatever
you want, taking outside work
from other counties then this
will never be a viable organization, Borrell said. It will never
be anything but just you paying
for the three counties. If theres
a way to make money by taking
a case in, why wouldnt they do
that?
Commissioner Mark Daleiden added that he is torn in the
matter because getting DNA evidence back quicker is always a
goal that is difficult to put a
price on, but, from a realistic
perspective, Wright County is
getting the bad end of the deal.
I am disappointed with our
cohort commissioners from the
other counties, because they

were talking about partnerships

where you work together and
they didnt seem to be interested
in working with us trying to
make things a little bit more
even, Daleiden said. From the
business aspect, looking at the
numbers that we pay from what
we benefit from it, it doesnt
make any sense.
But, from the personal side of
things as a Wright County resident, Daleiden said he struggles
with the fact that getting DNA
evidence back quicker could get
recidivist criminals off the street
quicker the sooner they are identified.
If you are the victim of a
crime, (funding) is the least
thing on their minds, Daleiden
said. I want this person off the
street. They hurt me. They did
whatever the case may be. I
cant put a number to that.
Board Chair Mike Potter said
that he would support staying
with Tri-County for the remainder of the current contract because to leave now would set a
bad precedent.
With all due respect to
Commissioner Sawatzke, he is
about the biggest fiscal hawk
you are ever going to find if
there is a penny to be found, he
will find it, Potter said. Even
though I am a little frustrated
how this is going, I, for one, intend on honoring our (contract)
through 2018. But, at the time of
2018, that attitudes off the
table. Then we need to seriously

address this. If we dont honor

something we signed into in a
contract with us, were going to
have a hard time getting any
kind of agreement with anybody
else in the future.
In the end, Daleiden asked
that the matter be laid over until
the Oct. 6 meeting so the commissioners can get the minutes
of the last Tri-County Lab executive board and to confirm some
of the numbers that were thrown
out during the discussion.
In other items on the Sept. 1
agenda, the board:
* Approved a cost share with
participating school districts to
pay 50 percent of the existing
cost of rental space at the county
courthouse utilized for the
wRight Choice program, which
is currently $26,744 a year. The
other 50 percent will be funded
out of the court services department budget.
* By a 4-0 vote, approved the
sale of $10 million in capital improvement bonds for the Public
Works Building project. The
sale will take place at 1 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 6, and will be 20year bonds. Commissioner Borrell abstained from the vote,
because he feels the county
should fund at least a portion of
the project from current reserve
funds. A second bond issue for
the remaining $7 million will go
on sale in early January. By
splitting up the $17 million for
the project, the county can get
bank-qualified bids, which typi-

cally result in lower interest

rates with more competition for
the bids.
* Referred to the personnel
committee discussion on the impact on staffing due to the return
from military service for an employee in the sheriffs department. His return coincides with
another deputy who is currently
out on an extended medical
leave.
* Authorized signatures on a
law enforcement contract with
the City of Delano for 2016-17.
The contract calls for 16 hours
of deputy patrol service per day.
* Approved the amended bylaws for the Lake Pulaski Lake
Improvement District. The
county attorneys office reviewed the amendments to the
LID bylaws and signed off on
the changes.
* Accepted the 2014 highway
department annual report.
* Approved the recommendation from the planning commission to rezone 40.6 acres in
Silver Creek Township from
general agriculture to ag/residential.
* Adopted a resolution establishing an absentee ballot board.
Every election cycle, the board
establishing a board for residents who will be out of state on
election day or serving in the
military in the U.S. and overseas. The board is comprised of
staff members from the Auditor/Treasurers Department.

Rivers takes home Spirit Award at MGA Best Bagger contest

MLHS 2015 grad, Ian Rivers,
has worked at the Coborns store
in Buffalo for just over a year
and earlier this summer beat almost four dozen other employees
to become the stores Best Bagger in preliminary rounds of the
statewide competition held by
the Minnesota Grocers Association, (MGA), at the Mall of
America in Bloomington.
They (the MGA) gave us a
list of the things that wed have
to bag at the competition, said
Rivers. I practiced a little bit for
the competition at our store, and
I think I got a 19.7 out of 29.
That got me to the state competition at the mall.
Opposite of many others,
Rivers wasnt nervous at the
state level competition. It was a
little nerve wracking at first,
said Rivers, but once I got up on
the stage all the nerves went
away. But they were fast, really
fast, much faster than any one at
my first competition.
Although Rivers didnt walk
away as one of the top three

fastest baggers as he hoped, he
did, with some help, take home
the Spirit Award. The Spirit
Award was for the contestant that

down to cheer for me. Rivers,

a new freshman at Bemidji State

University, majoring in physical
education, plans to return to

already reporting orchards full of

The Wright County Parks Department is hosting The Fungus
Among Us: An Introduction to Mushrooms at Robert Ney Memorial Park Reserve on Saturday, September 12, from 9-10:30

Dr. Dibben will cover identification, ecology, and biology of
woodland fungi in central Minnesota. In this workshop you will

Local Ducks Unlimited celebrates 10 years

The local chapter of the national organization Ducks Unlimited,
Heart of the Lakes, will celebrate 10 years in the Maple Lake area
at its annual banquet at the Maple Lake Legion Club on Sept. 15.
Since 1937, DU has conserved more than 13 million acres of
waterfowl habitat across North America. Most recently the local
chapter of DU has placed a great emphasis on area youth with its
Greenwing events. By joining DU, junior members participate in
the conservation, restoration and management of wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats
also benefit other wildlife and people.

A'viands, a food and services
management company headquartered in Roseville, Minnesota, is excited to announce that it has been
awarded the opportunity to provide
food management services for the
Maple Lake K-12 School District.
Commencing this 2015-2016
school year, A'viands will partner
with the school district to provide
breakfast and lunch services to all
buildings.
Through this partnership, A'viands will work with the Maple
Lake K-12 School District to enhance the current food service program. A'viands is committed to

provide a food experience that includes professional and creative

management, merchandising and
marketing. A'viands will progressively provide a variety of food stations and experiences that feature
comfort foods, local favorites and
kid-friendly meals.
In addition to serving nutritious
and tasty food choices, A'viands believes that nutrition and education
go hand-in-hand. A'viands will
work with the Maple Lake K-12
School District to incorporate nutritional education into students' dining experience. This will occur both
in the dining area and in the class-

rooms with a variety of posters and

signage and by using programs that
include action cooking events, food
tastings, and other food-related activities.
A'viands is eager to begin its
partnership with the Maple Lake K12 School District and to provide
the students a memorable dining
experience.

director Ryan Highberg
Ryan Highberg is a culinary professional with an extensive history
in food service. After graduating

from St. Michael-Albertville he followed his passion and enrolled at

Hennepin Technical College and
earned his Associates of Arts degree
from the culinary arts program. He
has worked in catering operations,
was the executive chef of a local
restaurant and most recently the
hospitality manager for the National
Sports Center. He currently resides
in Monticello and is looking forward to the opportunity the position
holds. Chef Ryan's ultimate goals
are to provide delicious, nutritious
and comforting meals to the students, staff and parent visitors of the
Maple Lake School District.

New faces, new race for Irish runners Irish volleyball defeats Litchfield

The Maple Lake cross country team started the season last
week with high hopes despite
some changes.
On the boys side, the loss of
over half its varsity squad means
new faces on the starting line,
and for the girls, come race day
they are going to have to run further than they ever have before.
Officials changed the distance for the girls from a 4K to
a 5K which means the girls will
be running as far as the boys.
That will change how they
race, Coach Ben Youngs said.
Although the girls team lost
only two seniors from last years
squad that finished runner-up in
the Central Minnesota Conference and seventh in Section 5A
competition, predicting how the
team will do is still difficult,
Youngs said.
Girls tend to be less predictable than boys as far as their
improvements from year-toyear, so predicting how we will
do is difficult, he said.
That being said, many of the
girls have experience.
Plus I'm excited about some
newcomers who may impact our
squad, Youngs said.
Returning to varsity this year
are three-time, state-meet qualifiers Sommer Carlson, a senior,
and Halle Geyen, a junior.
Other returnees who ran varsity last year are eighth graders
Grace Heying and Peyton Tongen; sophomore Katelynn
Kramer; junior Mackenzie
Miller; and senior Jordan Sifferle.
Other runners that Youngs

expects to make an impact this

season are Margaret Graham
who ran some good miles this
summer, Olivia Wolff-Herda
who looks improved, and
newcomer Bionca Peterson. Peterson is a freshman who was
impressively able to earn a
varsity spot in her first race ever,
Young said.
Other potential varsity runners are sophomores Caitlin
Weege, Chloe Riviere, Sienna
Ortiz, Jordayn Hausladen, Emily
Rasset, Hanna Stewig and Catie
Fobbe; juniors Ellie Haney, Ashlee Martie, Emma Carlson and
Emma Hagen; and senior Tara
Holmgren.
The girls experience puts
them in a good position to make
a run for the CMC title, Youngs
said. Holdingford and Eden Valley-Watkins-Kimball will be the
teams to beat.
Once again the Irish will have
to deal with the toughest section
in the state with the No. 1ranked Annandale and No. 6ranked Mora in the running for
a shot at state.
Last year the Irish took seventh at sections.
Im hoping we improve on
that, Youngs said. Much of
that will depend on how the girls
adjust to the 5K. I truly think it
will benefit our top girls to go
longer.
Unlike the girls, the boys
team will have a completely different look from the one that ran
its way to second place in the
conference last year.
The Irish lost five of its top
seven runners from that team to
graduation. Returning are seniors Devin Deringer and Ross

Hickey.
Devin just missed state last
year and that motivated him to
run 300 miles this summer,
Youngs said. He looks great.
Hickey ran a school record
600 miles this summer. To run
that far during break is a rare accomplishment, Youngs said.
Joining the two returnees is
senior Tanner Vassar, juniors
Simon Willard and Brady Tongen, sophomore Ben Smail and
freshman Michael Miller.
Those five were selected to
join varsity after posting the best
times at the pre-season time trials.
Overall it is very difficult to
know how this team will do with
all of the kids that graduated, but
early indications show great potential, Youngs said. It will depend on how kids adjust and get
used to racing.
Youngs expects Maple Lake,
Holdingford and Howard LakeWaverly-Winsted to be at the top
of the CMC. Last year Holdingford won the conference championship, but like the Irish they,
too, lost five of their varsity runners to graduation.
In Section 5A competition,
Mora returns as the defending
state champions, as well as No.
3-in-state-ranked St. Cloud
Cathedral.
For now we are going to
focus on ourselves and getting
used to racing varsity, Youngs
said. A CMC championship is
not out of the question. As for
state, it appears to be a bit ambitious for now, but sports are unpredictable and it won't be from
a lack of effort if we don't go to
state.

The Irish volleyball team battled through four games to earn

an early-season win over the
Litchfield Dragons, Thursday,
Sept. 3, in Litchfield.
Maple Lake got off to a good
start, beating the non-conference
Litchfield team 25-23 in the first
game. Their winning ways con-

tinued into the second game

with a 25-15 win, but the experienced, well-coached Dragons
rallied in the third game for a 2725 victory.
Although the momentum was
on Litchfields side, the Irish
didnt give up, and with the help
of some key blocks came back
for a 25-17 fourth-game victory
to win the match.

Irish runners have strong first meet

The Irish cross country team

is off to a speedy start with firstand second-place team finishes
at its home and season opener on
Friday, Sept. 4, at Ney Park.
The girls team outran 11
other teams, including last years
Central Minnesota Conference
champions Holdingford, a team
that is ranked No. 5 in Class A,
for first place, and the boys finished runner-up to Mound-Westonka.
With only four of the varsity
girls with varsity experience I
wasnt sure what to expect, especially with the race moving
from a 4K to a 5K, Coach Ben
Youngs said.
In addition to the extra miles,
the athletes first meet was a
sweltering one, with heat, humidity and, to top it off, standing
water and mud throughout the
wooded course.
But the tough conditions and
additional miles didnt stop the
runners from posting some fast
times.
Sommer Carlsons thirdplace finish set the tone for the
meet, and Halle Geyen wasnt
far behind, finishing in 7th place
overall.

Grace Heying was the next to

cross the finish line for Maple
Lake in 10th place followed by
Bionca Peterson in 18th.
Grace was last years No. 3
runner and did her job again,
Youngs said. Bionca is new to
the sport, so for her to finish like
she did blew me away. All seven
girls ran their hearts out in the
heat.
Devin Deringer led the Irish
boys squad with a very impressive second-place finish behind
the No. 1-ranked runner in the
state in Class A, Connor Schank
of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.
Ross Hickey showed his
leadership out on the course Friday, Youngs said, and just
missed the top 10 with his 13thplace finish.
Most of the rest of the team
is new to varsity, but they didnt
back down and ran aggressively, Youngs said. I feel they
have room to improve even
more as the season progresses.
In other races, the Irish junior
varsity girls team took third
place and the boys junior varsity
took fifth at Fridays meet.
The Irish compete again on
Thursday, Sept. 10, at Holdingford. Races begin at 4:30 p.m.

Game three was a crazy one

at the end, Coach Marty Kiebel
said. It was great for us to get
game four off of them, because
the momentum was on their side
to start game four after an exciting win in game 3.
I felt that we were tough at
the net, getting some key blocks
that stopped their offense immediately, he said.
The Irish were to kick off this
week with a Tuesday, Sept. 8,
home game against St. Cloud
Cathedral. Cathedral is a subsection opponent that beat Maple
Lake last season. Although they
graduated a couple key players,
Coach Kiebel expected it to be
an exciting game.
They will be ready for us,
he said before the match. We
need to match their energy and
respond to big plays that they
make with our own.
On Thursday, Sep. 10, the
Irish will take on Holdingford at
home at 7:15 p.m. It is also Parents Night.

Irish football team takes down Lakers 46-14

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted,
Friday, Sept. 4.
A division and section foe,
HL-W-W is an arch rival of the
Irish.
It doesnt matter what the
records are, you know its going
to be a tough game, Head
Coach Tim Knutsen said.

Maple Lake jumped to a 12point lead by the end of the first

quarter on the Lakers home
field after 10- and 14-yard runs
by Becker.
Becker came through again
in the second quarter with a 15yard run to lengthen the Irish
lead to 18. Damian Kaley then
scored on a 66-yard run with
Becker completing the twopoint conversion with a threeyard run.
The Irish put up seven more

points in the third quarter when

Kaley threw a 45-yard pass to
Chase Olsen for the touch down
and Andy Mavencamp kicked a
good field goal for the extra
point. Meanwhile, the Lakers
got on the score board with two
touchdowns of their own.
Maple Lakes Nate Maas
scored on a 10-yard run in the
fourth quarter, but the extra
point went wide. Ben Triplett
scored the Irishs final touchdown on a two-yard run and
Mavencamp ended scoring with
a final kick that cleared the goal
posts to make the score 46-14.
We executed our offense

very well tonight both running

and passing, Knutsen said after
the game. Defensively we gave
up one long drive, other than
that we played very sound defensively. We didnt turn the ball
over tonight.
Going forward, Knutsen
hopes to work on the teams
depth and getting fresh kids on
the field when the starters are
tired.
Up next for the Irish is division foe and defending Class 2A state champions Holdingford
at home on Friday, Sept. 11. The
game begins at 7 p.m. It is also
Parents Night.

Minutes Aug. 18, 2015
The regular meeting of the Maple
Lake Township Board was called to
order by Chairman Gerry Giebenhain at 7 p.m. Supervisors Ronald
Wolff and Tom Neumann, Treasurer
Judy Neumann and Clerk Dick
Hogan were present.
The minutes of the July 21 meeting were ready by Chairman
Giebenhain. As no additions or corrections were noted, a motion was
offered by Wolff, seconded by Neumann, to accept as read. Carried 30.

Bishop Ave. NW, requested that the
Town abandon a small strip of property between the right of way and
their frontage. After discussion, the

board unanimously agreed not to

pursue the request.
The proposed Donnelly ditch improvement project was updated to
residents present.
The board reviewed a proposed
consent resolution authorization that
Charter Communications continue
serving in Maple Lake Township.
The consent is the result of Charter's
merger into the Advance/Newhouse
partnership. The board tabled the
passing of this resolution until the
Sept. 15 regular meeting when they
hope to have a Charter representative present.
All warrants were paid as presented.
As no additional business was
besought before the board, Chairman Giebenhain adjoined the regu-

lar meeting at 8:05 p.m.

The continuation of the levy setting portion of the March 10 meeting
was opened by Chairman Giebenhain for the purpose of setting the
2016 levy. the meeting was then
turned over to the residents present
of their setting of the levy. After review of the budget and anticipated
expense and capital items, it was a
consensus of the residents that the
present levy was adequate for 2016
expenditures. A motion was offered
by Bill Ebnet, seconded by Bill
