ICON COMPLEX
PROJECT

Casting Mat Foundation for Tower I

PP divided into 3 (three) zone for pouring the Mat
Foundation; Zone 3 Zone 4 Zone 7
Total Area for Tower I : 5.554,6 m2
Mat Foundation thickness : 4,1 m
Zone 3 : had been poured started from June 20th
2015 until June 21st 2015 (10.00 A.M 11.00 PM)
Total Volume for Zone 3 : 5.765 m3
Zone 4 : had been poured started from July 02nd
2015 until July 04th 2015 (11.00 PM 12.00 AM)
Total Volume for Zone 4 : 6.563 m3

Zone 7 : still on progress preparation

Thermocouple Plan for Tower I

For Tower I, should be provided 25 (twenty five)
thermocouple for controlling the temperature of concrete
mat foundation.
Installing Thermocouple
For zone 3 : there are 8 (eight) points of thermocouple in the Tower area
For Zone 4 : there are 9 (nine) points of thermocouple
And for Zone 7 : there will be 8 (eight) points of thermocouple
Total : 25 thermocouples;
Each thermocouple divided into 4 layers reading control wire
(Top, Middle I, Middle II, Bottom).
Install the thermocouple in the
suitable area.
Grouting the cable pipe by
using grouting cement.
Read the thermocouple after
the concrete poured and
covered by plastic & plywood.

THERMOCOUPLE

Thermocouple at Zone 3

Zone 3 : there are 8 (eight) thermocouples

After concreting finish per subzone and layering by floor hardener,
then the concrete covered by concrete plastic
and plywood as the curing method.

Maximum
temperature at
Zone 3 :
- Top
: 83C
- Middle I : 96C
- Middle II : 96C
- Bottom : 87C
- Air
: 35C

Temperature monitoring is started in the 1st hour after the

concrete covered by plastic and plywood.
Reading the thermocouple in every an hour for two days to
control the critical hour of concrete temperature; then
temperature reading will be continued in every 3 hours until
day-7.

THERMOCOUPLE MONITORING ZONE 3

Thermocouple at Zone 4

Zone 4 : there are 9 (nine) thermocouples

After concreting finish per subzone and layering by floor hardener,
then the concrete covered by concrete plastic
and plywood as the curing method.

Temperature monitoring is started in the 1st hour after the

concrete covered by plastic and plywood.
Reading the thermocouple in every an hour for two days to
control the critical hour of concrete temperature; then
temperature reading will be continued in every 2 hours until
day-7.

Maximum temperature
at Zone 4 :
- Top
: 75C
- Middle I : 79C
- Middle II : 78C
- Bottom : 74C
- Air
: 36C

THERMOCOUPLE MONITORING ZONE 4

Maximum temperature
at Zone 3 :

- Top
: 83C
- Middle I : 96C
- Middle II : 96C
- Bottom : 87C
- Air
: 35C

Maximum concrete temperature at

Zone 3 is higher than the temperature
at Zone 4 (as shown in the monitoring
table).
At Zone 3, Temperature monitoring
read every an hour for two days and
continued every 3 hour until day-7.
While at Zone 4, Temperature
monitoring read every an hour for two
days and continued every 2 hour until
day-7 (to have more control for the
temperature).

Maximum temperature
at Zone 4 :

- Top
: 75C
- Middle I : 79C
- Middle II : 78C
- Bottom : 74C
- Air
: 36C

FINISH POURING (LAYERING BY FLOOR HARDENER)

START

COVERED THE CONCRETE BY PLASTIC AND PLYWOOD

After an hour

READ CONCRETE TEMPERATURE

(THERMOCOUPLE)

The curing system by

covering the concrete with
plastic and plywood.

Opening the plywood

when the temperature is
going higher to control the
concrete temperature.

OPEN THE PLYWOOD WHETHER THE CONCRETE

TEMPERATURE IS GOING HIGHER (>15C)

PUT THE PLYWOOD DOWN WHEN THE

CONCRETE TEMPERATURE IS GOING
LOWER AND STABLE
TEMPERATURE MONITORING
UNTIL DAY-7

FINISH

MONITORING Concrete TEMPERATURE

Basically, the curing system for zone 3

and zone 4 has no difference.
Up and down plywood to control the
temperature is executed in turn.
For getting a better control at Zone 4, we
read the concrete temperaure more
often for every 2 hour in the day-3 to
day-7.

Based on the monitoring result for zone 3, we did a better control

management for concrete curing by up-down the plywood regularly
at Zone 4 and read the temperature more often.
We would also apply this curing control management for the next
zone.
