NITI Aayog seeks to engage seven Consultants to be designated as Officer on
Special Duty (OSD) initially for a tenure of one year for carrying out specific tasks as per
details given below in accordance with Rule 163 to 177 of General Financial Rules 2005
read with Manual of Policies and Procedure of Employment of Consultants:
(i)

Officers on Special Duty 1(OSD 1):

Job Description:
To conduct research on literature on a variety of economic and
social issues, prepare briefs and papers and help the Vice Chairman in engagements
with the Central and State Ministries. Excellent analytic, writing and communication
skills required.
Qualification: Masters or higher degree in Economics, Business or Public Policy
required.
Age limit: Not exceeding 50 years of age.
Emoluments: Rs.1.55 lakhs per month.

(ii)

Officers on Special Duty 2(OSD 2):

Job Description:
To build the data and best practices sections of the NITI Aayog
Website under the directions of the Vice Chairman and Members. Excellent ability to
format and present the data in a form that users can readily absorb. Excellent IT
skills to build and maintain the relevant web pages necessary.
Qualification: Masters in Computer Science / Applications and / or Economics with
experience in building data intensive web pages.
Age limit: Not exceeding 50 years of age.
Emoluments: Rs.1.55 lakhs per month.

(iii)

Officer on Special Duty 3 (OSD 3):

Job Description:
To undertake research and policy work on transportation (such
as roads, railways, shipping), with particular focus on the North-East.
Qualification: Masters or Higher Degree in Economics, Business Management or
Public Policy, or Bachelors or Higher Degree in Engineering. Demonstrated writing
experience of the popular, as well as the academic variety.
Age limit:
Not exceeding 50 years of age.
Emoluments: Rs.1.55 lakhs per month.

(iv)

Officer on Special Duty 4 (OSD 4):

Job Description:
To undertake research and policy work in social sectors, with
particular focus on health, women, child development and poverty reduction.
Qualification: Masters or Higher Degree in Economics, Social Work, Business
Management or Public Policy. Demonstrated writing experience of the popular, as
well as the academic variety. Some civil society experience is desirable.
Age limit:
Not exceeding 50 years of age.
Emoluments: Rs.1.55 lakhs per month.

(v)

Officer on Special Duty 5 (OSD 5):

Job Description:
To undertake research and policy work in the legal area, such
as reform of statutes and administrative law.
Qualification: Bachelors or Higher Degree in Law.
Age limit:
Not exceeding 50 years of age.
Emoluments: Rs.1.55 lakhs per month.

(vi)

Officer on Special Duty (OSD 6 and OSD 7) Two:

Qualification: B. Tech/M.Tech/Ph.D (Any Branch of Engg.)

Technology Developmetn in Strategic Sectors/Energy Sector/Railway
Engg./Communication/IT Environment Engineering/Automotive.
Technology forecasting, evaluation and classification, commercialization
R&D Management, organization Development and Re-engineering.
Techno Commercial evaluation of Technology development Schemes.
Management of collaborative research Academic-research Labs-Industry.
Age limit: Not exceeding 50 years of age.
Emoluments: Rs.1.55 lakhs per month.
