Implementation Evaluation
This project was designed for the purpose of providing professional development in the
field of Mathematics for teachers in Braxton County, Georgia. The focus will be on the New
State Standards in Mathematics (NSSM) and learning to create problem-based learning (PBL)
modules, while effectively implementing instructional technology. The project will consist of the
professional development experience, which is a five day workshop, and then teachers will
participate in electronic consultations between themselves and Great Southern University.
Teachers will also attend two post-workshop meetings.
An evaluation plan has been conducted to ensure the project goal has been met.
According to the Proposal, teachers will attend workshops and meetings. In order for these
professional development opportunities to be effective, teachers must first be in attendance. The
presentation strategies should also be appropriate and meaningful. In addition, instructional
technology should be effectively implemented. To ensure technology has been implemented,
teachers should state the type of technology strategies integrated, and how often they were used.
Students will complete a survey stating whether they received academic support and how well
the learning strategies were implemented.

Summative Evaluation
The summative evaluation focuses on the same four objectives: creating problem based
learning modules, addressing the New State Standards in Mathematics, integrating technology,
and implementation and evaluation of these modules. The problem based learning modules will
be created with Great Southern Staff and will be evaluated by rubrics. Technology will be
integrated through e-mail, websites, and other online methods. Effectiveness of implementation
will be completed through student and teacher evaluations, as well as pre and posttests.
