All sections must be completed in order for the entry/application form to be valid.
Incomplete entries will not be considered or entered into the competition.

Entrants understand and agree that:


They are aware that this document has legal consequences and that if they do not
understand its contents or implications; they should request The Chairman, International
Breweries Foundation Committee, in writing, to explain it to them before signing it; and If
its of legal consequences, they should seek independent advise.
They understand and agree that International Breweries does not accept any liability in
connection with their participation in the Competition.
Candidacy Criteria/Eligibility

The competition is open ONLY to citizens of Nigeria (born or naturalized) who live or have
their business in the South-Western Region only.

Applicants must be at-least 18 years old and at most 35 years old with valid identification
(e.g. National I.D; Drivers Licence; International Passport; Voters Registration, etc).

Entrants must be prepared to run and manage their business on a full time basis

Applicants must possess a minimum of secondary school education. Post -secondary


qualification is an added advantage
Qualifying Businesses/ Acceptable Proposals
Legally permissible Resident / businesses in the South-west Nigeria;
New businesses requiring start -up capital; or
Existing small businesses needing capital to expand operations;
Joint ventures that will add value to the business are encouraged;
Other innovative business proposals with positive development impacts and result in
Nigeria economy development
Proposals must reasonably demonstrate that the project is commercially and technically
viable.
NB: The Foundation`s decision on determining winners is final and no correspondence will be
entered into.

Focus of the business ideas


The project / business ideas are expected to key into any of the economic activities that fall
within the economic activities in Nigeria.
Project Size in the Competition
In principle, only business proposals that require a total (initial) capital in excess of 500,000
(Five hundred thousand naira) but less than N1 million will be considered, although the
discretion of judges and committee reserves the right to accept projects that do not fit within
these guidelines if other features of the project are particularly exceptional.

Rules of Competition

1. This promotional competition (Competition) is run by International


Breweries Foundation and is open to persons between 18 and 35 years of age
and resident in Nigeria, except the employees and their immediate families of
International Breweries Foundation, International Breweries Foundations
advertising and promotion agencies, associated companies, and outlet owners
and staff.
2. These rules may be amended by notification at any time during the
Competition, and will be interpreted by Promoter only. Participation by all
Entrants (Participants) constitutes acceptance of these rules.
3. No Entrant shall be allowed to enter the competition with more than one
business.
4. Consider your entry application unsuccessful should you not receive a response
from International Breweries Foundation after 30 days from competition
registration closing date (23:59, 6th October 2015) for entry applications.
International Breweries Foundation will assume full rights and ownership of all
materials (imagery, videos, etc) produced from the competition, and will be
entitled to use the Entrants story for PR without any compensation to the
Entrant whatsoever for as long as the International Breweries Foundation
KickStart programme is in existence. By virtue of accepting and signing these
rules, you give International Breweries Foundation such an authorisation.
5. All competition Entrants, should they be selected to the next stage, will be
required to furnish and submit proof of such things as their businesss
registration, status, etc. upon the request of International Breweries
Foundation, in order to be eligible for the next stage.
6. The competition is open to all members of the public who are between 18 and
35 years and be a permanent resident in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. A
certified copy of Identification must accompany the application.
7. Participation/entry to this competition constitutes acceptance of all the rules,
terms and conditions, guidelines and instructions (rules) pertaining to this
competition and is agreed to abide by the rules.
8. The closing date for this competition is 6th September 2015 and all entries

must reach International Breweries Foundation by no later than 23:59 of the


closing date. No late entries or facsimile entries will be accepted.
9. International Breweries Foundation will not be held responsible for the loss
of any entry forms or documentation.
10. Only entries with all accompanying documentation will be entered into the
competition. It is the responsibility of the Entrant to ensure all documentation
is present and correct.
11. The Entrant must be prepared to be transported to venue for the final award
ceremony, should they progress to the relevant stage of the programme.
12. Selected winning Entrants of the programme are required to run and manage
their business on a full-time basis.
13. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. International Breweries Foundation reserves the right to make media
announcements, publications of the winners of the competition, photography
and follow-up interviews.
15. The governing law to apply in respect of this competition is that of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria, and therefore it is the sole responsibility of the Entrants to
ensure that they comply with relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
as set out by the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
16. Successful winning Entrant agrees to have their business progress tracked
annually for a period of five years.
17. Competition entries Business (product or service offering) cannot be changed
during the competition or the KickStart Programme.
18. All Participants, Entrants and winners indemnify International Breweries
Foundation, its associated companies (directors, officers and employees) and
agents, against any / all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct,
indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever and in
any way connected to their participation in, or association with, this
Competition.
19. Competition Entrants and Participants will be disqualified, upon conclusion of
a diagnostic analysis by International Breweries Foundation at any stage of
the competition, should they be found to have knowingly or unknowingly
misrepresented information pertaining to their businesses.
20. Competition Entrants and Participants must confirm that he/she is medically
fit/sound to undertake the processes of the competition and bears resultant
costs as a result of this.

Term and Conditions Warranties, Indemnities and Competition Agreement

The Warranties, Indemnities and Competition Agreement must be read and signed prior to submitting
your business entry application: By submitting your entry application (the Entry) to International
Breweries Foundation KickStart ("the Competition"), each Entrant listed below agrees to the
following conditions:
Originality of Plan, Intellectual Property Warranty and Indemnity. The Entrant warrants that
all ideas and concepts set forth in the Entry are the original work of the Entrants, and the Entrant is
under no agreement or restriction that prohibits or restricts his or her ability to disclose or submit
such ideas or concepts to the Competition.
Entrant further warrants that the Rights or any
equipment, materials or reports used in connection with the Rights by Entrant shall not infringe upon
or violate the Intellectual Property rights or other proprietary rights of a third party. Entrant
indemnifies International Breweries Foundation KickStart against and undertakes that Entrant
shall pay all costs, damages and attorney fees on an attorney and our client basis finally awarded
against SAB in any action which is attributable to such claim, and Entrant shall reimburse
International Breweries Plc KickStart on demand with all such costs, damages and attorney fees
incurred by International Breweries Foundation KickStart in connection with any such action.
Compliance with the Rules, and Competition Agreement. The Entrant has reviewed the
Competition Guidelines ("the Guidelines") and by his or her signature below certifies that this Entry
and the team or individual it represents complies with the Guidelines and agrees to abide by the
Guidelines, Rules and Competition Agreement.
Representing International Breweries Foundation KickStart. By signing this agreement, the
Entrant agrees to speak or represent International Breweries foundation KickStart for public relations
purposes, inter alia promotional events and media representations.
Due diligence, financial, credit and security check. International Breweries Plc reserves the right
to conduct due diligence and financial, credit and security checks on the Entrant and the business
entered as part of risk assessment and assurance.
Waivers, Indemnity and Releases. The Entrant understands that each of International
Breweries Foundation KickStart Judges, Trainers and Mentors, Co-organisers and Co-ordinators
(the "Competition Officials") and its directors, officers, partners, employees, consultants, and agents
(collectively "Organiser Representatives") are under no obligation to render any advice or service to
any Entrant. The Entrant acknowledges and understands that the views expressed by any Competition
Official or Organiser Representatives are their own and not those of International Breweries
Foundation KickStart or any person or entity. By entering the competition the Entrant accepts that
the competition officials have the right to forward the Entry to the competition officials for screening,
judging, in line with the competition Guidelines and Rules.
The Entrant also understands and agrees that, although the Competition Officials have taken and will
take the steps described in the Guidelines regarding confidentiality of the Entry submitted by the
Entrants, the legal protection of the content of the Entry submitted by the Entrants to the Competition
is the sole responsibility of the Entrant. In consideration of the time, expertise, and other resources
provided by the Competition Officials and Organizer Representatives to the Competition, each Entrant
hereby voluntarily releases each Competition Official and each Contest Co-coordinator from any
further liabilities, responsibilities, and accountabilities relating to or arising out of the Entrants or any
such Competition Officials or Organizer Representative's participation in the Competition.
