strip width) and/or its multiple (exceptions to this are steel-grade-specific limitations).
p Order quantities per item below 18 kg/mm strip width are subject to special agreement.
p Specific special grades that require an individual heat in the steelmaking plant are subject to special
agreement.
p The coil weight, particularly when the requirement is no weld seam, can be only one production unit
or a divisible unit thereof.
p The total order amount must be an entire multiple of the minimum/maximum coil weight required
and/or 1820 kg/mm of the specific coil weight when weld seams are allowed.
p Coil weight requirements (minimum/maximum) with respect to the order quantity, outer diameter or
specific coil weight must show a minimum difference of 2 kg/mm strip width.
p The objective is to fulfill the customer requirement with regard to maximum coil weight; however, it
is permissible for the actual weight to fall below the requested weight by 30%.
p For each ordered volume, order quantity deviations of up to 10% are permissible.
p The minimum order quantity per production unit is at least one coil production unit (1820 kg/mm

ance with the following important information with regard to storage and transportation is mandatory in order to maintain quality and to avoid damage.
Flat-rolled products are high-quality and highly sensitive materials. They must be protected
from damage, impurities, moisture (from rain, splashing, groundwater and condensation)
during storage and transportation.
Base supports
Storage/transportation
The base must be of plastic, steel or wood. Steel bases must be clad with rubber or plastic.
colofer must be stored on either a plastic or rubber base. The design of the support base
must correspond to the coil geometry.
Storage arrangement
Storage/transportation
Coils must be stored in single rows. The stacking of coils is permitted when damage to the
material can be excluded without any doubt.
Lifting devices
Transport
All load securing devices are subject to compliance with applicable technical safety regulations. Coil damage caused by fastening devices and a relative movement of the coil during
transport must be avoided (VDI Guideline 2700 to 2702).
Cold-rolled and surface-treated steel strips are high-quality and highly sensitive products. Compli-
23
and in accordance with the applicable European standards. Limitations beyond these Technical
Terms of Delivery or the European standards must be indicated in the order.
We deliver in compliance with the Technical Terms of Delivery issued by voestalpine Stahl GmbH

Order data
the interest of both the customer and the supplier. We highly recommend a description of the intended application in order to provide proper consultation on the material. The following order data is
required for additional customer requests:
p L imitations applicable to dimension tolerances:
- Limitations applicable to thickness tolerance
- Limitations applicable to width tolerance
- Limitations applicable to shape tolerance
p Data related to the application, preferably with a drawing, graphic, sample piece, etc.
p Special requirements in mechanical values or features with respect to the manufacture
of a certain workpiece
p Special requirements with regard to magnetic properties
p Special requirements with regard to roughness
p Special requirements with respect to the coating above and beyond standard production parameters such as differentially galvanized, special property requirements for organic coating
p Requirements for oiling (to be indicated in g/m 2 for each side)
p Data on any required test certificates (works certificate, etc.)
p Special requirements with regard to packing upon special request
p Special requirements for labeling or marking, including information on the desired location
p Special requirements on welding seams or weld seam designation when delivered as coils
p Requirements with regard to freedom of coil breaks
Weld seams
If not otherwise agreed upon, steel strip may be delivered with weld seams (with the exception of
electrical steel strips; see chapter on weld seams).
The position of the weld seam is usually marked with a hole in the center line of the strip (at a distance
of less than 300 mm from the weld seam). Other methods of designating the weld seam are subject to
special agreement.
It is generally necessary to provide the most complete description possible of the desired product in
25
name, coil number and number of running meters (special marking only upon request).
Labeling
Generally one tag per packing unit indicating the following information:
p Supplier number (bar code)
p Order number (bar code)
p Item number (bar code)
p Place of unloading (bar code)
p Recipient
p Order number/item
p Strip number with subdivision (bar code)
