Lucifer is an American television series that is set to air


Scarlett Estevez[15] as Trixie: Chloes daughter who

3 Production

Premise

On September 16, 2014, Deadline reported that DC and


Fox are developing a television series based on the Sandman character Lucifer created by Neil Gaiman.[1] On
February 19, 2015, the ocial pilot order was given.[4]
According to the premise reported by The Hollywood
Reporter, the potential series will greatly dier from
the comic book version of the character featured in the
Sandman and his own solo comic.

The series will focus on Lucifer, who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where
he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.[4]

Cast and characters

On February 27, 2015, newsarama reported that Rush


and Once Upon A Time actor Tom Ellis was cast as Lucifer Morningstar. It was also reported that the writer of
the pilot episode will be Tom Kapinos and the director
and executive producer will be Underworld director, Len
Wiseman.[5] The role of Maze had to be recast. CSI actress Lina Esco was originally cast as Maze.[8] On March
18, 2015, Lesley-Ann Brandt was cast as Maze. In May
2015, the series was ocially picked up.[2]

Main

Tom Ellis[5] as Lucifer Morningstar: The Lord of


Hell who is bored of his life, abdicates and becomes
a consultant for the Los Angeles Police Department
(LAPD) while running his own nightclub called Lux.
Among other powers, he has a supernatural awareness of any persons sins and can compel them to
speak the truth. He enjoys using these abilities to
expose sinners in public.[6]

On May 28, 2015, AFA website One Million Moms


launched a petition to prevent the shows airing.[18] The
petition says the new series will glorify Satan as a caring,
likable person in human esh.[19] One Million Moms
posted the petition on aforementioned date and thus far,
27,085[20] concerned mothers have asked Fox to cancel
the program by signing the petition. The petition on the
AFA website, which was also posted on the same date,
has garnered the support of over 132,172[21] concerned
viewers.[22] The Petition has since been removed from
the One Million Moms' website without listing it as a successful campaign.
