SYNOPSIS:

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE.
1. KERALA STATE ELECTRICITY BOARD (K S E B).
Operation, Control and Monitor of EHV Substation, transmission and
distribution system coordinate with Transmission Control Centers (TCC).
Responsibilities include:
Substation Inspection, Condition Monitoring & Load Monitoring, Evaluate
system conditions, perform transmission and distribution dispatching and
line switching in a safe and reliable manner, interaction with control room
and field personnel for troubleshooting of network condition.
Issues permit to works (PTW), sanction for tests (SFT), isolating & earthing
certificates etc for work in the field and ensures for proper isolation and
earthing.
Knowledge and experience in operation and maintenance of EHT and HT
Switch gear, Power Transformer, Circuit Breakers (SF6, OCB and VCB),
CTs, PTs, Relays, Lightning Arrestor, Isolator, Earthing Switch and
Station Batteries, Battery charger.
Accurate logging of all transmission and distribution events.
Preparation of Monthly Operating Review reports, Interruption reports and
Energy Transaction reports.
Attends to system faults and takes the necessary decisions then and there to
restore the system to be back to normal and restores the supply (in case of
power failures) at the earliest, limiting interruption to the minimum.
Conforms to all the operations are done in strict compliance with
department safety rules and regulations, giving priority to safety and
security.
Ensure maintenance of accurate equipment wise logs of switching timings
and effective handover process at the end of shift.

 Study and execute the planned outage schedule and preparing the switching
program.
Review abnormalities in the network and take immediate decisions to
ensure supply security.
Good knowledge of Substation, Transmission and Distribution systems and
power system equipments.
2. DODSAL ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION, ABUDHABI.
Execution and Testing and Commissioning of HV and MV substations in
oil and gas industry.
Testing and commissioning of power transformers, Switchgears, CT, PT,
Circuit Breaker, XLPE cables, HV and LV motors and auxiliary systems.
Good knowledge of understanding SLD, Schematics, wiring diagram and
method of isolation procedures to follow isolation, grounding procedures,
both electrical and mechanical interlock schemes.
Familiar with test equipment such as transformer turns ratio(TTR
310),Transformer Ohmmeter, oil tester(OTS 100 AF/2), CT analyzer(ISA
T2000),Primary injection kit(CPC 100) ,Secondary injection kit(FREJA
300),Breaker analyzer(TM1600,CBA1000), megger, Hi-pot kit(BIDDLE
Instruments160 KV), digital and analog multiimeters, ground resistance
tester, Contact resistance test (T &R DSM-600)
Guide supervisors and workmen for the specific requirement of the project
in terms of specifications, standards, Quality requirements, work methods
etc as per the standard specification.
Read and interpret cable specifications and electrical/layout drawings.
Knowledge of HSE requirements in a live substation and oil and gas
industry and IEC/IEEE standards of substation equipments.

3. JAL INTERNATIONAL, SAUDI ARABIA.

Experience in operation, maintenance and Testing of various
Transmission(132KV,66KV,34.5KV) and Distribution(13.8KV) substation
equipments such as Power transformer, Power circuit breakers , Disconnect
switches, ground switches ,Bus bars , PT and CT, Batteries and battery
chargers, Lighting circuits.
Good knowledge of understanding SLD, Schematics, wiring diagram and
method of isolation procedures to follow isolation, grounding procedures,
both electrical and mechanical interlock schemes.
Coordinate and supervise all operation and maintenance activities and
troubleshooting for Power transformers (500 KVA TO 100 MVA) and power
system equipments.
Interpret power dispatching diagrams as well as different types of drawings.
Supervise substation maintenance crew and Contractors personnel to ensure
compliance of Safety Regulations.
Use test equipment such as transformer turns ratio kit, Transformer
Ohmmeter, oil tester kit, CT analyzer, Primary injection kit, Secondary
injection kit, Breaker analyzer, megger, Hi-pot kit, ground resistance tester,
Contact resistance tester, phase angle meter, line voltage sensor, multimeters and clamp-meters.
Comply with Health, Safety and Environment as well as work permits and
procedures.
Knowledge of Power system protection like O/C, E/F, Distance, REF and
Differential.
Testing and commissioning of ALSTOM make P142 and SIEMENS make
7SJ61 O/C and E/F relays using FREJA 300 3Phase relay test kit.

4. KERALA STATE ELECTRICITY BOARD (K S E B).

Operation, Control and Monitor of HV (110/33/11KV) Substation,
transmission and distribution system coordinate with Transmission Control
Centers (TCC). Responsibilities include:
Substation Inspection, Condition Monitoring & Load Monitoring, Evaluate
system conditions, perform transmission and distribution dispatching and
line switching in a safe and reliable manner, interaction with control room
and field personnel for troubleshooting of network condition.
Knowledge and experience in operation and maintenance of EHT and HT
Switch gear, Power Transformer, Circuit Breakers (SF6, OCB and VCB),
CTs, PTs, Relays, Lightning Arrestor, Isolator, Earthing Switch and
Station Batteries, Battery charger.
Experience in Power Dispatching/SLD/Electrical Schematic isolation,
grounding procedures, both electrical and mechanical interlock schemes,
Control/protection Diagrams and method of isolation procedures to follow.
Good knowledge and understanding electrical protection of Transformer,
Transmission line, Breaker, Bus bar and Distribution lines.
In case of forced outages and faulty or any disturbances, analyze and take
the necessary actions to restore the transmission and distribution network to
normal conditions and applying the contingency plan if found.
Regulate the voltage using distribution transformer tap changer or request
transmission transformer tap change from TCC.
Conforms to all the operations are done in strict compliance with
department safety rules and regulations, giving priority to safety and
security.

 Attends to system faults and takes the necessary decisions then and there to
restore the system to be back to normal and restores the supply (in case of
power failures) at the earliest, limiting interruption to the minimum.
In case of generation shortage or other system contingency, does the load
shedding in accordance to pre-arranged methods.
Study and execute the planned outage schedule and preparing the switching
program.
Responsibility to maintain the smooth running of Substation.
Accurate logging of all transmission and distribution events.
Ensure safety of personnel and equipments applying safety rules.
Preparation of Monthly Operating Review reports, Interruption reports and
Energy Transaction reports.
Knowledge of understanding of three phase power system.
Conduct tests, analyze the data, report the finding and recommend follow up
strategies on the transmission and distribution equipments.
