Thomas Eliot Thomas Stearns Eliot was born in 1888. He was an American and British poet
and critic.He is one of the most distinguished literary figures of the 20th century. In 1948 Eliot
won the Nobel Prize in Literature. He studied at Harvard, the Sorbonne, and Oxford. In 1914, he

established residence in London. After working as a teacher and a bank clerk Eliot began his
publishing career. In 1925 he was employed by the publishing house of Faber and Faber,
eventually becoming one of its directors. homas Eliot Thomas Stearns Eliot naci en 1888. Fue un
poeta americano y britnico y critic.He es una de las figuras literarias ms destacadas del siglo 20.
En 1948 Eliot gan el Premio Nobel de Literatura. Estudi en la Universidad de Harvard, la Sorbona

John Synge John Millington Synge was born in 1871. He was an Irish poet and dramatist.
Synge was an important figure in the Irish literary renaissance. As a young man he studied
music in Germany and later lived in Paris where he wrote literary criticism. In Paris he met his
compatriot William Yeats, who persuaded him to live for a while in the Aran Islands and then
return to Dublin and devote himself to creative work. All of Synge's plays reflect his experiences

police in Burma. He returned to Europe in 1927. In 1936 he fought with the Republicans in the
Spanish civil. Orwell was a critic of imperialism, fascism, Stalinism, and capitalism. His works

Edward Forster Edward Morgan Forster was born in1879. He was an English author and one
of the most important British novelists of the 20th century. After graduating from Cambridge
college, Forster lived in Greece and Italy. During World War I he joined the International Red
Cross in Egypt where he served. In 1946, Forster became an honorary fellow of King's College,
Cambridge, where he lived until his death in 1970. He received the Order of Merit in 1968. Edward
