Avid Codecs PE Available when installing an Avid video editing application. It is also available separately with Pro Tools HD 11.0 and
higher.
Avid Codecs PE includes the MPEG IMX codec, but the Avid Codecs LE package does not. The Avid Codecs PE installer is available
from the downloads section under My Account on www.avid.com for owners of Pro Tools HD 11.0 and higher.

When using one of the above QuickTime codecs with Pro Tools, it is recommended that you install the appropriate codec pack. If no
codec pack is installed, QuickTime files using these codecs may not function in Pro Tools or another 3rd party application.

Avid Codecs
Avid Meridien Uncompressed
Exporting using Pro Tools: When you bounce 1:1 Avid Meridien Uncompressed QuickTime material using the Same as Source option,
the Avid Meridien Uncompressed codec is used to view the movie within Pro Tools or a non-Avid program. Alternatively, you can
transcode to the Avid Meridien Uncompressed codec using the QuickTime Settings option in the Pro Tools Bounce dialog.
Exporting using the Pro Tools QuickTime Settings option or a non-Avid product: Export using this codec at a size of 720 x 486 (D1
NTSC) or 720 x 576 (D1 PAL), otherwise the export fails.
Alpha: This codec supports alpha channels.
Avid 1:1x
Exporting using Pro Tools: When you bounce 1:1 MXF or QuickTime material using the Same as Source option, the Avid 1:1x codec
is used to view the movie within Pro Tools or a non-Avid program. Alternatively, you can transcode to the Avid 1:1x codec using the
QuickTime Settings option in the Pro Tools Bounce dialog.
Exporting using the Pro Tools the QuickTime Settings option or a non-Avid product: Export a movie at a size of 720 x 486 (D1 NTSC),
720 x 576 (D1 PAL), 1920 x 1080 (1080i HD), or 1280 x 720 (720p HD) for optimal quality.

Avid Packed
Exporting using Pro Tools: When you bounce 1:1 10-bit MXF or QuickTime material using the Same as Source option, the Avid
Packed codec is used to view the movie within Pro Tools or a non-Avid program. Alternatively, you can transcode to the Avid Packed
codec using the QuickTime Settings option in the Pro Tools Bounce dialog.
Exporting using the Pro Tools the QuickTime Settings option or a non-Avid product: Export a QuickTime movie at a size of 720 x 486
(D1 NTSC), 720 x 576 (D1 PAL), 1920 x 1080 (1080i/p HD), or 1280 x 720 (720p HD) for optimal quality.

Avid DNxHD

QuickTime Settings option in the Pro Tools Bounce dialog.

1280 x 720 (720p HD), or 1440 x 1080 (DNxHD-TR 1080i/p) for optimal quality.

Avid DV
Exporting using Pro Tools: When you bounce DV MXF or QuickTime material using the Same as Source option, the DV codec is used
to view the movie within Pro Tools or a non-Avid program. To ensure that the Avid DV codec is used, select the Use Avid Codecs option. Alternatively, you can choose to transcode to the Avid DV codec using the QuickTime Settings option in the Pro Tools Bounce dialog.
Exporting using the Pro Tools QuickTime Settings option or a non-Avid product: Export a movie at native 720 x 480 (NTSC) or 720 x
576 (PAL) for best quality.
Alpha: This codec does not support alpha channels.
Avid DV 100
Exporting using Pro Tools: When you bounce DV100 MXF or QuickTime material using the Same as Source option, the Avid DV 100
codec is used to view the movie within Pro Tools or a non-Avid program. To ensure that the Avid DV 100 codec is used, select the Use
Avid Codecs option. Alternatively, you can transcode to the Avid DV 100 codec using the QuickTime Settings option in the Pro Tools
Bounce dialog.
