Evaporating dish (4 units), dropper (1 unit), 50 ml beaker (1 unit), pH meter, citric acid
crystals (1 spatula), sodium hydroxide crystals (1 spatula), distilled water (1 bottle)
*PRECAUTION:

Please wear a pair of gloves BEFORE conducting the experiment.

Put 1 spatula of citric acid crystals in the evaporating dish.


Place the pH meter onto the citric acid crystals.
Observe and record your findings in Table 1.1.
Add a few drops of water to the citric acid crystals.
Place the pH meter into the mixture.
Observe and record your findings in Table 1.1.
Repeat Step 1-6 by using sodium hydroxide crystals.

Rubber bands, water, candle, matches, plasticine, gas jar stand, glass trough
PROCEDURE:
1. By using rubber bands, divide the gas jar into five equal parts.
2. Stick some plasticine to the bottom of the candle to make it more stable.

3. Place the lighted candle inside the gas jar as shown in Diagram 1.

Floral foam (1 unit), Drinking straws (4 units/any suitable amount), Satay sticks (2 units/Any
suitable amount), Mini cups (4 units), Balloon (1 unit), Cellotape (1 unit)

PROCEDURE:
1. Based your creativity, plan and sketch the drawing of your air-powered car in the
following box.
2. Use all materials provided. You may add suitable material to make it a stable car.

3. Present/Explain the design and justify the reasons it was built that way.
4. Run/Test-drive it on the runway. The time taken for it to reach the end of the runway
will be recorded.
