WHO AM I?

Who am I? What defines me? This is such a tricky question that could
take me years to answer. This is because I am still on that stage of getting to
know more of myself. There are still so much that I dont know yet about
myself. Maybe because I am still in an environment where I can do so little to
explore and have some adventures.
But of course, for the 22 years of my life here in this God-givenparadise, I have known myself to be someone I believe I am proud of. Before
delving on details, let me introduce myself.
I am Shiela Cortado Azon. I grew up from the beautiful province of
Camarines Sur. I belong to a big, chaotic and happy family. I was nurtured
into a place surrounded by farms, and beautiful sceneries like the majestic
Mayon Volcano. This is where nature is not just a picture but a reality.
I was reared to be a strong and independent individual. I had been
away from my family since Im twelve years old. Since then, every happening
in my life is but a miracle from God. I am very thankful to Him for giving me
sound mind that made me qualify for different scholarships. I am a full
pledge scholar from preschool to college, all because of Him.
Among my academic subjects, I love Science and Math, both tricky
subjects. Science gives me all the trivia and wonders of life while Math

enhances my analytical skills. I always like to be challenge. That is the

reason why I took up Accountancy.
When Im not enhancing my scholastic mind, I read books just about
everything ranging from novels, documentation, recipes, fashion, farming,
politics, news and bible. I also write. I had been a trainee in poem and short
story writing.
I also appreciate arts. I am a self-professed frustrated artist. I tried, but
I gave it up. Real Art is a very expensive hobby. I ended up in doing
electronic art, photoshop.
I am a traveler. In my short span of life, Ive been to different places. I
like to see every wonderful thing. I tried hiking, and its fun seeing the earth
on the mountain tops. And I plan to do more of that in different places. Earth
is such a beautiful place that needs to be appreciated.
I am a dreamer. Originally I like to be a teacher, but then I grew up,
and I decided to be a scientist, which I realized to be very expensive. So I
decided to be an Economist. But because it is not offered in my school I opt
to take BS Accountancy. But now I believe I like to be a farmer/business
woman.
I have so many aspirations for my family, for myself, for the people in
our place, for scholars like me. I dream good things for them. I aspire to help

them. I am very thankful that someone was there for me to help me fulfill my
dreams. And I hope to be that someone for somebody someday.
Thats who I am, an academic enthusiast, nature lover, dreamer, and
God-fearing individual.
