Transshipment Hub for

Ethiopia and Central East Africa

Red Sea and Indian Ocean

Main Market: Ethiopia

Africas oldest independent country and the second largest in terms

of population. A founder member of the African Union and the
African base for many international organizations. 7 years of
double-digit growth ended in 2012, with 7.5% in 2011 and 5.5%
forecast for 2012. Growth was undermined by inflation.
ECONOMY
Government launched a highly ambitious five-year Growth and
Transformation plan (GTP) in late 2010. It intends to bring down
inflation by reorganizing the food supply chain. Attempts to
address private-sector development through the joint public-private
partnership forum set up in2010. It is easier to do business in
Ethiopia than in Nigeria, Uganda, Egypt, Morocco and 70 other
countries but Ethiopia still ranks lower than Kenya, Tunisia and
Ghana.
Agriculture: GTP offers over 3.2 million hectares of land for
commercial farming. Four industrial zones will be eligible for free
tax. 10 sugar factories and 6 fertilizer factories are planned.
Extractive Industries are another focus of the GTP: Gold, Oil &
Gas, and Potash.
Construction: cements is booming, more factories are under
construction
Power Generation is to quadruple from 2000 to 8000MW with a
massive expansion and rehabilitation of distribution and
transmission lines + the Nile Dam Project. This will allow for the
sale of power to Djibouti, Sudan and Kenya.
ICT: Mobile telephone subscribers are slated to increase from 7
million to 40 million and internet service subscribers from less than
200,000 to 3.7 million + creating sustainable ecosystems

Currently, We Handle 99% of Ethiopia traffic
