Equipment BOM Creation

A Bill Of Material (BOM) is a complete , formally structured list
of the components making up a technical object or assembly.The
list contains the object numbers of the individual component
together with their quantity and unit of measure . The component
can be stock or non-stock spares or assemblies , which in turn can
be described using maintenance BOMs.
BOM are primarily used for the following purpose:
Structure description
BOM describes the structure of a technical object or material .
Using maintenance BOMs maintenance tasks can be planned.
Assignment of spare parts
BOM is used in plant maintenance to assign spares for a technical
object or material .
TRIGGER:
A piece of maintenance equipment requires a bill of material for
maintenance purpose. Whenever any equipment created we can
create its BOM for structuring. But before creating Equipment we
need to create Material Master.
Create a BOM for a piece maintenance equipment to describe the
equipment components , maintenance requirements or the
assignment of the spare parts.

If Equipment number is already existing for the BOM and you
want to add another BOM for that equipment then you have to
use IB02 transaction code.
And add the component .
