1. INTRODUCTION
Royal Cafe is a multi-cuisine restaurant specializing in a variety of Indian, Mughlai, Chinese,
and continental dishes that instantly become a favourite of all those who try them out at their
fabulous restaurant with delightful interiors. These dishes are prepared in kitchen with all the
ingredients careful sourced from sustainable sources. Everything is prepared freshly by them so
that customer gets the original taste which they want to experience again and again.

1.1 About the Restaurant:


Royal cafe, the restaurant goes back to 1980s. This was the second best eatery in Lucknow those
days a dark mysterious sort of place huge and big kitchens. They have aired conditioned banquet
hall, which was very much popular about 25 years back. The biggest advantage with royal cafe is
its Central Location. Royal Cafe is a reputed name in premium quality of food.
Royal cafe started with the rooms, catering, and lunch packets services in its business. Royal cafe
is basically is a MM Group. The famous food-joint of Lucknow is owned by the owner of the
Marxmen, Motimahal, Minimahal, all situated in the heartland of Hazaratganj

1.2 An Assurance of Quality:


Keeping in mind that they deal in very sensitive product, they promises to deliver their clientele
quality products wrapped in the refreshing and qualities food served.
While quality is tested on random basis of checking and tasting of packets and food by few
assigned managers.

2. DIVERSIFICATION AND EXPANSION


Royal cafe has its three branches in the city i.e. at one branch Patrakar Puram and 2 branches at
Hazaratganj. There are total 16 branches in the city i.e. in Lucknow, which is operated with
different names, different businesses and different services offered.
The businesses that they have diversified in are:

Royal Colours and Royal Grills are the new launches of the Royal Cafe which constitutes
especially for the lounge and party area.

CHANGES

3.1 PRODUCTION PROCESS


Earlier Royal Cafes every products was handmade but now they have Master Kitchen. In their
master kitchen they have introduced automatic and advanced big Owens. They work by using the
method manually and by using equipments both. They have installed the dish washer equipments
but it really doesnt work effectively, as it was not appropriate for small dishes so, they used to
do the work manually and it is faster than that of dish washer.

3.2 WORKFORCE
Royal Cafe is driven by a team of specialist and dedicated chefs, for whom creating taste is not a
job but a passion. The team combines professionalism with enthusiasm and creativity to offer
unique and fully reliable services. Focusing on actual delivery, the food production process is
carried out efficiently.
The chefs are professional and non- professional but the non- professional chefs have many years
experience.
There is almost 6000 employees work for Royal Cafe and its different units.

3.3 TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS


With the changing trends Royal Cafe has advanced itself to be a click and mortar organisation
(www.royalcafe.in). This technological advancement has made Royal Cafe accessible to all in
corner of the city. Online food booking is available and customer can also look for booking of
banquet halls and halls for party (birthday, engagement etc).
They have centralized air- condition which was very much popular about 25 years back, at the
time when it was like dream.

Royal Cafe has also enabled its customer to avail various payment options such as payment
through plastic money (credit card, debit card). Online payment as well as cash on delivery both
options are available.
Royal Caf has tied up with ZOMATO, FOODPANDA, and JUSTDIAL.

3.4 INFRASTRUCTURAL CHANGES


Royal Caf continues to change its dcor of the restaurant as per changing requirements and
trends. The restaurant dcor reflects the latest trends which help to attract the customers. The
restaurant is fully air- conditioned and also installed hidden camera to keep check- in and checkout in the place.
As per keeping their traditional look in mind they keep renovating their infrastructure. In
Hazaratganj they now expanded to the Royal Colours at the first floor of the building. They dont
feel any resistance while changing its infrastructure, because they adopt change and they are
flexible and adoptable towards the dynamic environment.

3.5 OTHER CHANGES


Time to time Royal Caf used to check on the customers taste and preferences. They used to
serve the food to the general public and ask them to rate it. According they introduce any new
dish to their menu.
For example: Earlier they were dealing in Indian food, Italian food and Continental food in
Royal Sky. After keeping stalls of Italian food, tasting and voting helps them to add on the Italian
food in their menu.

4. CONCLUSION
To be a successful enterprise, change is must as the external environment is never static. If an
organisation doesnt change, they can become extinct. Therefore, to sustain the market growth
and increase in the market share, positive and progressive approach of change is necessary. Any
change could never be powerful if it is not implemented well. The change in the organisation
needs to be identified and adopt by all the employees of the workplace.
The change must be analysed before it get implemented because to get assure for the people are
ready to change or not.
Royal Caf has taken various steps to continue the change in the dynamic environment this could
never be possible if the workforce has created impediments in the path of change, therefore the
diversification and change could not be possible. Royal Caf is successful in choosing the
workforce which would assist rather than resist change.
The restaurant has well understood that for a business like dealing in food and services could
only be successful through customer satisfaction and by meeting the value for money preposition
of its customers. Being having such position in the market they never fear and feel to lose its
competition. Infact they dont compete with any organisation. They do their best and serve to
customer.
Change is inevitable while progress is optional. Therefore, Royal Caf has imbibed the change
and progressed in the ever changing business environment. Any change may be difficult to adopt
but changing is always fatal.
