How do you find the limit of the function

use difference of cubes:

this math code here is really frustrating, so what you want to do is use
difference of cubes on and get in the denominator.

then use difference of cubes on which will give you

then use difference of squares, yielding factor out the

which leaves you with Might be a

mistake in there but i think the general idea is right

my way is a little bit different...

i tried to make in both denominator and numerator

so i first multiply (conjugate of )

then multiply both by

and you will get:

then...you should know what happen...

this is my way...but since i haven't got my fiesta back...i am not 100% sure that
i am right...

anyone has any different solution??

Hi, Scott, could you please tell us where did you stuck?
My answer is -4.
1st condition: 2x-1>0, x>0.5, but it contradicts the assumption that x
approaches to 0, so it is neglected
2nd condition: 2x-1<0, 2x+1>0. So -.5<x<.5, it satisfies our assumption as x
goes to 0. Based on this, you will get -4
3rd one: 2x-1<0, 2x+1<0. x<-.5. Again it contradicts the condition that x is
close to 0. Eliminate this one as well.
That is how I got -4 as my answer. I don't know if it is the correct answer.
Thx

For #4, I think the answer is 0. Try to use the Squeeze Theorem and see if it
helps.
Thx

use a calculator to estimate the value of limit numerically. or, was it a no cal
quiz...? tables are usually good way to confirm your answers even if you know
other ways to find them.
