Preparedness to participate on after-hours, overtime and on call

rosters to support colleagues.
I have worked in a roster of one call every third day while working in LNH and
JPMC. Besides, I have worked overtime, worked in shifts and provided cover to my
colleagues when they are in need of. I have worked as Intern, HO, AEMO and SHO
and it is not unusual at junior level to work overtime. So I am quite happy and willing
to work in on call rosters, after hours or to provide cover to my colleagues as it is
needed.

Evidence of ability and preference for working in multidisciplinary

team.
I have worked in large tertiary care centres like Holy Family Hospital and Railway
Hospital and DHQ Jhelum during my studies and during postgraduate years. All these
hospitals provide complete multidisciplinary team approach towards patient
management. As a junior doctor it was my responsibility to send referrals to and to
involve various departments in the management of my patients. And then to take the
necessary steps to carry out the orders advised by them. I also visited other
departments along with my team to assess the patients on request.
This clearly shows that, I have worked in a system that involves various faculties, to
provide care to patients. I really enjoyed working in a multidisciplinary environment,
and I would love to have my placement as a doctor in a hospital that adheres to this
principle of multidisciplinary patient care.

I have worked previously in emergency medicine and my aim is to compltete my
training in emergency medicine in australia and get a fellowship of royal college of
emergency medicine australia
[1:24:31 AM] doc: My passion is to get a fellowship of royal australian college of
emergency medicine
I have worked in emergency medicine for x years and I would like to work in
emergency medicine in highly specialised environment here in australia to equip
myself with the most upto date knowledge and skills in managing emergencies and
acheive my aim by completing fellowship of Royal australian college emergency
medicine

Previous experience in emergency department:

I completed my house job from Mayo hospital Lahore. It ia the biggest hospital of
Pakistan having 2000 beds and its emergency department is one of the busiest in
Pakistan having a daily turn out of more than 1000 patients. I worked in Accident and
Emergency/General Surgery department of Mayo hospital for six months and General
Medicine/Medical Emergency Department of Mayo Hospital for four months during
house job.
After completing house job I worked in Govt. and private hospitals for almost last
four years. I have been working in hospital as a resident medical officer since January
2007. It is a 50 bed secondary care private hospital in. It has a very busy emergency
department. And as a resident medical officer it was my duty to work in emergency
department and manage different emergency cases.
My purpose to take AMC exam and come to Australia is to get training in high
standard Australian hospital system and to get a fellowship degree from Australia.
In Mayo Hospital Lahore, a mortality conference is held every fortnightly in medical
and surgical wards, and all the patients who expire during that period and reasons of
there death are discussed and if it is required, recommendations are made accordingly
to improve any deficiency in the management of patients in future.
While working in the Mayo hospital, Govt Basic health unit and Al-Karim Hospital I
used to report all the infectious disease cases to infectious disease control programme
operated by the Govt. of Punjab. Then they took appropriate steps to minimise the
spread of the disease and made recommendations accordingly if needed.
In Al-Karim hospital, if allergic reaction happens to any patient due to any drug, we
document it in the Allergy register. and a printed card is given to that patient with the
name of drug so that he can show it to a doctor in future anywhere.
In Mayo hospital and Al-Karim hospital if a patients get a wrong medicine
coincidently then we fill an incident report form explaining the reason that why this
happened so that the chances of such error can be reduced in the future.
Almost all Govt and Private hospitals in Pakistan specially Punjab are very busy and
have a high patient turn over because it is a densely populated area. Due to such a
high patient turn over it is very important to manage your time properly so that you
can give proper time to each patient according to the seriousness of his/her condition.
