Classic Quality The McCormick MTX range

The name says it all

An excellent heritage
The McCormick brand is a true classic in the manufacture of agricultural machinery and
equipment. From the worlds first ever practical reaper in 1831 through the long and
distinguished line of tractors that followed, the McCormick badge epitomised quality,
craftsmanship and innovative design. Now the name that pioneered a transformation in
agricultural efficiency for more than a century and a half is reborn.

A wealth of experience

Renowned reliability

Manufacturing is based at plants

that have long and distinguished
track-records of tractor and
transmission production. Working
in harmony for many years, the
award-winning workforce is
highly skilled and experienced.
Who better to breathe new life
into the McCormick legend?

McCormick tractor users from

yester-year still happily relate stories
of their unrivalled reliability and
appetite for work. Whilst,
technologically, the new generation
of machines bear little resemblance
to their predecessors, they are every
bit as dependable - and more so.
Every single working part is
designed to last - even in the most
punishing environments. Hour after
hour, day after day, out in the field
or in the yard, a McCormick tractor
wont let you down.

A commitment
to quality
The McCormick tractors of the
21st century remain true to the
values and principles that made
McCormick a world-beater for so
many years. That means no
compromises in quality. It ensures
strict compliance with some of the
most demanding manufacturing
standards in the industry. And, not
least, it heralds a renewed mission
to achieve ever-increasing
productivity levels for our
customers.

The MTX range

The MTX power package is ISO mounted on a cast steel chassis. This means that the
engine is free from any load bearing or torsional stresses from the front axle which
therefore improves reliability, durability and serviceability. Engine noise levels are further
reduced by the four rubber mounts.

MTX200
At the top of the MTX range, The MTX200 uses the latest CUMMINS 24V, QSB engine that
features an electronic management system, wastegate turbocharger and air-to-air cooling
for superior performance.

4 valves per cylinder with

centrally mounted injectors for
ultimate combustion efficiency.

Five of the McCormick MTX models now feature the all new BetaPower engine. Specifically
designed to McCormick specifications, this new engine develops and utilises technology from the
successful Cummins B Series whilst the latest Cummins QSB engine powers the MTX200 model
that tops the MTX line-up.
The McCormick BetaPower engine has been
specially manufactured with two levels of
specification that are ideally suited to the
different demands of the various MTX
horsepower categories.
The MTX120, MTX135 and MTX150 models
utilise a mechanical fuel injection system to
provide rated power (at 2200rpm) of 115,
131 and 152hp respectively.
The MTX165 and MTX185 are fitted with the
24V McCormick BetaPower engine that has
the technologically advanced, common rail
fuel injection system for superior performance
in demanding applications. This results in

significant power rise characteristics that

reach 168hp and 197hp respectively when
the engine speed is pulled back under load.
Whichever MTX model you choose, you can
be sure that the engine is fuel efficient and
economical, and conforms to the very latest
emission legislation. In addition, all are
turbocharged and inter-cooled using an
air-to-air system that maximises power
outputs.
And with service intervals now extended to
500 hours on all MTX models, maintenance
costs are kept to a minimum.

Front hitch

Effortless operation

A rugged front hitch is available on all four wheel drive models.

This hitch has been designed as an integral part of the MTX and
takes maximum advantage of the massive structural strength of
the chassis, providing a maximum lift capacity of 3700kg for all
MTX models. When not in use, the lower links can be folded
back out of the way so that they dont impede on any other
tractor operation.

Manoeuvrable and smooth to operate

The four wheel drive front axles are produced by Carraro and offer operational benefits to the customer.
The axles are matched to the tractor horsepower and provide traction and stability in all conditions.
The increased wheelbase on the MTX165 and MTX185 and MTX200 allow the extra lift capacity to be
fully utilised and ensure a smooth ride. The 55 steering angle make the tractor highly manoeuvrable.

The front hitch, combined with an optional front PTO,

transmitting full engine power through a 1000rpm 6 spline
shaft, makes the MTX a truly versatile tractor for front and
rear mounted arable applications.

As an option on the MTX120, MTX135 and MTX150, this axle can be equipped with multi-disc brakes,
which provides additional braking performance and stability that comes with true four-wheel braking
for high-speed, heavy load operations on the road.

Independent Front
Suspension
Also manufactured by Carraro, the MTX
can be fitted with an Independent Front
Suspension system. The unique operation
of this system means that the suspension
only acts on the wheel which is in
contact with the ground or subject to
ground variations and not to the whole
axle. This suspension system ensures a
higher degree of comfort and driving
safety as the wheels remain in continuous
contact with the ground.
