BEN: The Philippines is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to

climate change and disaster, be it natural or man-made. Typhoons and


storms, landslides, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and drought pose
the greatest threats to the country to which can inflict devastating
effects to the community and the economy.
LOURDES: Disasters and hazards are inevitable. However, risks can be
alleviated if the community, as well as we the youth, will be more
cautious and be properly oriented on what we can do in times of
crises.
BOTH: To everyone here in attendance, we bid you a pleasant morning and
welcome to DISASTER PREPAREDNESS/ORIENTATION AND DRILL
seminar.
BEN: But before everything else we ask all of you to please stand up for a

BEN: Whew! It was one of a gripping kind of a situation. I feel like Im
literally into action. But, I do fervently pray that we will not be
approached with earthquakes of disturbing intensities.
LOURDES: For me, its like a putting-a-brave-face kind of situation. You
should not fret out and remain calm at all times to prevent stampedes
and the like.
BEN: I agree. So before the morning session ends lets hear from Mrs.
Dolores R. Ramos, NSTP Instructor, for her closing remarks.

BEN: Our afternoon will be emblazed on FIRE PREVENTION, SUPPRESSION,
PREPAREDNESS AND EVACUATION.
LOURDES: Thats right. Since fire is one of the notorious home and livelihood
wreckers, everyone must know the primary precautions on how to keep
away from it.
