HR Technology Initiatives Are

Not Just About Implementation
Transformation Comes from
Great Change Management
In a fast growth company that goes public and
expands internationally, the only thing constant is
change. But research shows that 80% of change
efforts fail. Paul will discuss how change management
techniques are critical for successful transformation
of a growing workforce in multiple countries whilst
implementing an enterprise HR system. These
techniques include devising a change roadmap,
formulating the change strategy amidst rapid growth,
considering your culture, engaging the right people to
drive the change and communicating the change.
Paul brings more than 18 years of experience in
the design and implementation of complex human
resources technology solutions for global enterprises.
Currently he is the Global HR Operations Manager at
Twitter where he is implementing key initiatives to
streamline efficiencies and scale the infrastructure.

The Future of HR: Create

Brain-Friendly Organisations
In the past few decades, technology has grown at an
unprecedented rate providing opportunities for businesses to
expand to every corner of the globe. Peoples attitudes and
preferences have partially adjusted to meet the demands of
a fast paced economy and a new way of working. Personal
values and mindsets, however, still drive the behaviours and
attitudes that make up an organisational culture.
Ignoring how the human brain works and the people aspects in
organisational transformation can result in frustration, a lack of
engagement, low productivity and high turnover. Taking care of
talent and developing a culture of brain friendly organisations is
the future of HR. Are you prepared for it?

Silvia
Damiano
Founder & CEO

About my Brain Institute

Silvias past and current roles have uniquely prepared her for
the current undertaking, that of leadership activist & change
agent. Silvias curiosity about the human brain led her to a
decade long journey of research into optimal brain functioning
and the application of neuroscience in leadership and daily life.

How Social Media is Driving a

Revolution for HR and the Workplace
Over the last seven years the exponential growth of
social media has become a global phenomenon and its
implications for the workplace are monumental. Prepare
to hear the social media revolution de-constructed and
consider the current and future implications of the rapid
change it is driving for HR and the broader workplace. Using
employer examples from around the globe, Matt will illustrate
the sheer scale of change the social revolution is driving for
HR professionals and how they should be embracing it for
workplace advantage.
Ever since he first worked with the web back in 1997, Matt
has been fascinated by the emerging technologies that
change the way companies go about recruiting people.
Today - some 16 years later - hes recognised as a highly
influential recruitment futurist and industry leading digital,
social and mobile strategist. Matts ethos is simple - in
order to shape your future as an employer, you must better
connect with the talent you need.

Change Doesnt Care Whether You

Like It or Not - It Doesnt Need Your
Permission
We upgrade, exchange and replace our software because
we know that old technology, rusty circuitry and limited
bandwidth wont suffice in the future. Yet why are we so
reluctant to apply the same upgrades to our thinking? The
current rapid pace of change in every industry means that we
need to be constantly upgrading our personal, organisational
and leadership software. How would your company be
different if your staff were inspired about change, rather than
paralysed by it? Or if your leaders could raise performance
to meet the oncoming generations, do more with less, and
innovate their way into the future? Or better still, if you knew
which trends were impacting your industry today and how to
position your thinking favourably for the future?

Australia make sense of, and harness disruptive trends in
innovations, generations and communications.

The world is changing. Talent is wanting.

New technologies are emerging.
Businesses are demanding. HR is moving
beyond its operational role and is fast
transforming into a core, focused, and
disciplined strategic business function.
Technology is the essential tool and
enabler of this transformation, which
is why we are hosting Interaction
and Disruption sessions designed
to challenge thinking, effect serious
change and transform business.

HR Technology - Whats
Essential, Whats a Waste of
Resources and Whats Worth
Considering?

Tim Sackett
President,
HRU Technical
Resources (USA)

Hear the key features in any HR tech solution that drive adoption. This session
will cut through the complexity and confusion of HR technology and arm you with
knowledge and answers including negotiating internally to buy HR tech, the sh*t
HR tech salespeople say, and how to translate. The average HR pro has no idea
what HR technology is actually needed to make their HR function as effective
as possible.
Tim is a 20 year HR/Recruiting Talent Pro with a Masters in HR and SPHR
certification, and currently the President at HRU Technical Resources a $40M IT
and Engineering contract staffing firm and RPO. He has split his career between
recruiting and HR generalist roles. Tim believes the most important thing an
organisation can do is increase its core talent base. Its the one deliverable that HR
truly controls that can have an extreme bottom-line impact to your organisation.

Data for Good v Data for

Evil and the Aggregation of
Everything

The Business Case for HR

Change is Getting Harder:
What Can You Do About It?

Data is the new oil. Theres a tech for everything, to analyse, track and
in many cases, fortune tell. In this explosive session Bill questions how
far we should go in mining and interpreting the inexhaustible personal
data trail that follows us around. Our personal and business footprint
dictates the impact of everything we do, from branding to engagement.
Bill considers what this really means to our efforts to attract talent, and
looks ahead to what will happen when everyone is an aggregator, and
everything gets aggregated. Hold on to your hats!

For years, new HR IT was justified by productivity gains and reduced systems
costs. But after youve re-automated payroll for the third time, how much
more productivity gain is left? There are other opportunities for savings and it
will take a new approach to serving the business, thinking about IT and how
HR will drive strategic advantage. Join Brian as he builds the HR business
case of the future.

Bill is a recovering recruiter, having spent close to 35 years in and

around recruiting. He is a serial writer and commentator, and works with
talent technology start ups to build great technology, implement new
technology and change the way they hire. He always wears a hat and
never wears a suit, and is known for not holding back with a view for
fear that it might be controversial.

Best of Breed vs. One System

What We Learnt Through

To track and analyse the huge swathe of data related

to employees, former employees and applicants,
and provide managers with robust information
to support talent decisions, Fletcher needed to
deploy an integrated HR system solution. The key
deliverables of this solution had to cover core HR,
compensation, talent and learning, and recruitment.
Adding to the complexity, it had to be done across
multiple countries and in multiple languages!

Ben Tilley

The two biggest challenges that talent acquisition

faces is over-application from unsuitable
applicants, and the deteriorating relationship
between talent acquisition and the hiring

The value of internal talent pools is well

recognised. Many organisations apply
contemporary theories to identify their internal
talent, but rely on manual processes, resulting
in a static picture that disappears from view
the moment other HR priorities take over. The
RACQ was one of these organisations applying
contemporary theories, but using manual
processes and just like the backyard pool in
a Canberra winter no one was using it. The
decision was made to shift online and now
everyone wants to jump in.

Creating a HR Strategy That

Works
Silvia Damiano,

Founder & CEO, About my Brain Institute

A fully coherent strategy requires the alignment

of our current and future selves. Jump into
this session and learn how an uncertain and
ambiguous economic environment pushes
most people to think about the present and to
want to satisfy immediate (and often personal)
needs, rather than investing the time to imagine
and forecast future scenarios. When lack of
imagination prevails and the present rules, the
most likely outcomes are rushed and poorlydeveloped strategies, which end up affecting and
generating stressful moments for everyone.

Candidate Experience is the

Biggest Lie Being Sold Today
Tim Sackett,

President, HRU Technical Resources (USA)

The entire premise around candidate experience

is that we should treat candidates like we treat our
customers. But, Why? Are our candidates, truly
our customers? In some cases, yes. In many cases,
not even close! We make a huge leap of faith in
HR and Talent Acquisition making this assertion.
So, why is candidate experience the hottest topic
in the industry? This session will dig into some
theories around why we might be putting just
a bit too much attention into something that
ultimately doesnt have a huge impact on our
overall ability to hire, and discuss what we should
be doing with our candidate experience.
