Itshows,inrepresentationalandsymbolicform,theconquest
ofLowerEgyptbyanUpperEgyptianrulercalledNarmer (aka
Menes).
Narmer,byunifyingthetwoEgypts,becamethefirst
pharaoh.Heisthedivineruler,suprememanandsolely
responsiblefortriumphovertheenemy.
Onthepalette,Narmer isshownwiththeUpperEgyptian
god,Horus(imagedasafalcon),defeatingalower
EgyptianwarriorandlordingitovertheLowerEgyptian
symbol,thepapyrusplant.
