Explaining the Theme:

Children will play with bricks, blocks, sand and water and in the house.

They will paint pictures of themselves, listen to stories, sing song, count and learn everyone's name.

Planning Grid 1:Self Portrait

Children will look into a mirror and talk about their eyes, hair colour, nose and other features.

Later on they will make a painting of their face.

Collage material such as wood, buttons, etc will be used to make a face picture on paper.
Planning Grid 2: Pass Teddy

A teddy will be passed to the children and some questions will be asked such as:

What is your name?

What colour is your hair ?

How old are you ?

How did you come to school ?

Children will find their own name card. This will help them to learn each other's name.
Planning Grid 4 : Hands and Feet

Children will make hand or foot prints.

They will count the number of fingers and toes they have.

They will sing finger rhymes and songs:

Children will talk about the meaning of tall and small.

Ask them who they think is the tallest in the class.

Order the children by height to find out who is the smallest / tallest.
