The cluster is mainly concentrated in Pipli and nearby villages of Puri district
in a radius of 8KM. Main concentrations are Darijisahi, Badheisahi, Karseisahi
and Sighisahi
The cluster has a number of sales outlets in Pipli itself.
Approximately 40% of the total sales of the cluster is through participation in
trade fairs and exhibitions
Appliqu products including motifs for Hathi (elephant), Singha (lion), Mayur
(Peacock), Sua (Parrot), Gandamayur (double headed peacock), Bataka
(duck), Gach (tree), Patra (leaf), Padma (lotus flower) are used in the designs
There are 16 handicraft societies active in the cluster, are specifically for
appliqu craft
In the cluster, women do stitching work mainly on old machines with poor
appreciation for quality work
Poor packing and packaging done by the cluster artisans
Sales is mainly through local sales outlets
Due to construction of bye - pass road, no. of tourists visiting the cluster has
decreased
There is lack of appropriate infrastructure both in the units and the cluster
