1 A student carries out an experiment to find the relationship between base current , Ib , and
collector current , Ic, of a transistor. The arrangement of the apparatus for the experiment
is shown in Figure 1.1

At the beginning of the experiment, a 2.2 kO resistor is used in the base circuit as
shown in Figure 1.1. The switch is closed and the milliammeter reading Ib1, is recorded.
The experiment is repeated to get a second reading, Ib2. The actual readings of Ib1 and
Ib2 are shown in Figure 1.2 on page 6.
The experiment is repeated by using 3.9 kO , 4.7 kO , 6.8 kO and 10.1 kO resistors.
The readings of the milliammeter are shown in Figures 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 on page 6
and 7.
