First Telangana Science Congress - 2015

The Telangana Academy of Sciences is organizing the First Telangana Science Congress (TSC-2015) with the main objective of promoting
interaction between and across the scientific community from various disciplines at national and international level, besides popularizing science
among teachers and students. The first Telangana Science Congress is now being organized by Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS) in association
with University College for Women, Koti with sessions on six major scientific themes of the Academy, Special Sessions, S&T Exhibition and an exclusive
session for school children. Distinguished Scientists of National and International repute will deliver distinguished lectures and will participate in the
deliberations.

Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS)

The Telangana Academy of Sciences(TAS) was formed after the state reorganization Advancement of Science in the state of Telangana is the main
objective of the Academy. The Fellowship of the Telangana Academy of Sciences comprising of eminent Scientists from research academic and
industrial spheres, besides Associate Fellows. We have several Fellows from different parts of the country. The Academy also established Five regional
centres at Hyderabad, Warangal, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Nizamabad.
The TAS also promotes children science activities, encourages young scientists inventions, investigations and research in pursuit of excellence in the
fields of Science and Technology. Its activities include organising lectures, seminars, symposia, popular exhibitions and programmes on overall
perception of science and society.
The new Executive Council of the Telangana Academy of Sciences has decided to hold the first Telangana Science Congress, a flagship event of the
scientific community of Telangana state from 21st to 23rd December, 2015 at Hyderabad. This event will be held at O.U. College for Women, Koti,
Hyderabad. The main objective of the congress is to provide an opportunity to interact with eminent scientists of national and international repute, to
discuss on matters of common scientific interest, to motivate Youngsters towards basic research with interdisciplinary approach and to recreate
interest to enrich the capabilities of the research scholars of this region for the development of the State.

University College for Women, O.U.

University College for Women is a constituent college of Osmania University, with autonomous status since 1989. It is accredited Five Stars in the first
cycle and A Grade in the next two cycles of NAAC accreditation.
Established in the year 1924, the College has successfully completed of 90 years of empowering women. The institution offers quality education to
women enabling them to cope with the challenges at various levels and in different spheres and to strive for excellence in the fields of teaching, research,
employment and entrepreneurship.
The College is located in a sprawling Campus of 42 acres covered with lush greenery. It has state of art Classrooms for UG and PG, Science, Language &
Computer Labs, Seminar Halls, Botanical Garden, Health centre etc.
The College has highly qualified teachers with 95 Ph.D. holders, 36 NET/SET qualified teachers with lot of experience and research publications to their
credit and willing to take up new challenges.
It caters to about 4000 students for both UG & PG programs. The College being autonomous offers various combinations of Undergraduate Courses
(regular & self finance programs) under B.A, B.Sc (Physical & Biological Sciences) and B.Com and 13 Post Graduate Programs along with four Diploma
and two Certificate Courses.

Accommodation

Abstracts of scientific papers containing not more than 500 words

need to be submitted online (website: www.oucwkoti.ac.in) or
through E-mail (telanganasciencecongress@gmail.com) or by
speed post to the Organizing Secretary on or before 10th
December 2015.

Limited accommodation is available. Attempts are

being made to augment additional accommodation.
Available accommodation in the Guest houses will
be provided to the Participants on first cum first
served basis. However, accommodation in Hotels
can be organized on request along with advanced
payment. The hotel tariff ranges are provided in the
registration form.

Acceptance of Abstracts:
Abstracts of Scientific papers accepted for presentation at the
congress will be communicated to the corresponding author
before 15th December, 2015 after being recommended by the
Sectional Committees.
