Having a black and white colour

could tell the audience that
something mysterious is about to
happen. Because black is a dark
colour, you also know that its not
going to necessarily be a happy
film.

Cutting from the idents straight to

a new scene shows that there is
going to be unexpected moments
throughout the film. It is a contrast
from the loud tense music with
black and white idents to the calm
sounds and scene of the waves.
Close Up
Shows the cuts and bruises on the
characters face. Also, it will
confuse the audience into asking
questions about why the man is
there, or why he is hurt.
Medium Shot Having children on the beach
shows the audience that it is
public, and that someone will
eventually find him. Also, this
relates to the last point because
having children on the beach will
make the audience ask more
questions about why the children
are there or why the character is
still there.
Steady Cam Because the camera is shaking and
moving slightly, this tells the
audience that the character is
uneasy and dazed at the moment
and because the image is
sometimes blurry, the audience will
think the man is hallucinating or
having dreams about the children.
This shows that the children
playing are of some significance to
the man.

happen to the man. Also, because

uniform, the audience knows he is

important and a part of some sort
of special forces. The way he pokes
the unconscious man tells the
audience that the new character
might not be the nicest man.
Gives the audience a chance to see
what the surroundings are like and
that there is land and not just
water.
The establishing shot tells the
audience where the next setting
will most likely be. The fact that
they use a long shot to show where
the next scene will take place
doesnt giver much away to the
audience and leaves them in
suspense.
Although the movement is very
small, the tracking shot allows the
audience to see the surroundings
and the room and gives the
audience their first impression.
Puts the audience in suspense as
we can only see the back of this
person, and because of this the
audience will presume it is a villain.
Again, this will cause the audience
to be confused because the men in
the scene obviously know what the
item is but the audience dont
which creates more suspense.
