Upon completion of this course students should be able to:
1. Acquire the component of computer information system and the related
component to the current situations.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of basic system software and application software.
3. Present the use and impact of technology on todays society and the ability to use
new communication tools in a corporate setting.
4. Apply the SDLC, the use of system development methods and concept of
database in solving problems.
Synopsis
This course is designed to cover fundamentals of information systems. The course will cover
basic hardware concepts; the structure (or architecture) of computers; and the software
hierarchy from systems software to application programs. Students are also introduced to the
concept of database and information systems development.
