MAMs
High Performance Pallet System
The system uses state of the art hardware and is controlled by a solid state
IPC. It covers up to 20 processing units
(e.g. machines) and up to 10 loading
stations.

Components
The system can be easily extended
any time. The preassembled
modules and interfaces warrant a
short installation time.
For the design of our HPPS, we
have used exquisite technology
solutions proven in the design of
machine tools. This guarantees a
high degree of availability and a
maximum service life.
The evolution of design
On a HPPS-5 system with two
machines plus two load stations and
36 buffer stations the worst case
pallet reload takes less than 30
seconds. This requires excellent
design of all robot axis.
Servomotors, gear or ball screws
were used on all axis. When MAM
demonstrated the HPPS for the first
time at IMTS 2008, our competitors
turned off their system.

The total number of parts was reduced by about 40% compared

to the first generation design called FPA. This results in faster
installation, highest speed and best reliability.

Robot
Compact, stable design
facilitate fast movements. The
volume conveyed will be automatically measured during
transport, the optimal
acceleration and speed
parameters will be calculated,
which render our system the
fastest FMS on the market.
All transfer axis are servomotor driven for fast and
precise positioning. Base of
each automation system is a
solid welded steel frame- this
results in unbeatable
reliability.

Loading Station
Standard is a 22 touch
screen as operating panel
including light curtain for user
friendly access to the system.
Get all information about raw
material, fixtures, subassembly, QS documents
and drawings on the screen.
Documentation is administered by data bank.
Each loading station can be
used for machinepallets and
material boxes without
modification.Tilting tables are
availible as an option.

Pallet Buffer
MAM flexible buffers can be
used for boxes and machine
pallets. Also mixed sizes.
Base of all HPPS sizes is a
solid steel design frame.
This rigid welded frame
connects the robot rail and
rack.The pallet is located on
pins, underneath is a seal
drip pan.

MAM Production Organizer

MAM Production organizer modules
will be the power catalysts of your
production and will substantially
increase your throughput. Order
control is the starting point and main
focus, from where an optimized
automated system control will be
derived.By using state-of-the-art

control facilitates flexible handling of

Order-related System Control

This system control is based on
workpiece production that takes the
respective orders into account. It
offers the option of planning and
controlling the individual production
phases, so the clamping steps of
the respective order will be clearly
indicated and can be handled with
ease. The main view always
highlights the current status of
pallets and each side of all FlexTowers in colour. Also the status of
all machines and loading stations
is visualized in real time. In manual
mode the operator is able to
transfer objects by drag and drop.
By just touching the symbol the
details can be edited. Profit from our

MAM Tool Magazines

High Performance Robots
For highly automated production, a great tool capacity is essential.
To reduce non productive time, a fast magazine with a high capacity is the only
solution. MAM, with its own developed solutions and patents, offers the fastest
Matrix Magazine with graphic user interface including tool life management and
broken tool detection. The most flexible package.

MAM-Matrix Magazines
The MAM-C with its outstanding
speed is the most compact magazine and fits almost every horizontal
center, the MAM-XX covers extra
large tools up to 70Kg mass and
the MAM-L is featuring the patented
unique four position tool turret.
Since 2004 MAM has developed 6
types of matrix tool magazines. With
the original MAM-tool organizer
and high performance MAM-control
these automation system will bring
your cell to the next level.

MAMs advanced control measures the weight of the actual handled

tool by +/- 1Kg. This value can be handed over to the machine for
ATC speed control. MAM has up to 5 different acceleration ramps
and maximum speed values for the weight classes.

Laser Measurement
System
This system provides
functions to check if a tool is
broken or a tool should be
marked as worn. With the
tool length setter the length
of a tool could be measured
and set automatically.
Accuracy +/- 0,1mm.
That happens right after the
tool change at ATC position
and takes only 1,8 seconds.

The Loading Station

Revolver design to load and
unload 5 tools at the same
time. The door opens
automatically and is then
automatically locked
during rotation. Each tool is
supervised with sensor for
presence and orientation.
Standard for MAM
Magazines is to load and
unload tools during
automatic mode.

MAM HPCT
Average replacement times of 20 seconds
per tool, make this system the only option.
The MAM-HPCT Central Tool Automation
unites state of the art design and technology.
HIGH PERFORMANCE means enough
performance for flexible machining demands.
The worst- case scenario was simulated
with at total of 2000 tools for 10 HMC.

Transportation Adapter

Flextower - The revolutionary flexible modular

clamping system
The software-assisted Flextower production
facilitates enormous reduction of set-up times.
The four-sided control option quadruples the
number of orders that can be stored in the system
and called up automatically. The automatically
generated zero points and programs will take the
current clamping condition into account.
Small, specially tailored quantities can be produced.

Accurate
Super accurate body, machine
interface on the bottom optimized to
your strokes, hardened and ground
guides with zero point locators for
the actual jaws- all made out of one
piece.

Modular & Robust

Automation system for start up customers and highly automated factories as well. The base with a zero
point Jaw guide, can be combined
