is the brand name for a patented laundering process
that replaces the majority of water with reusable polymer beads,
reducing the water and electricity required for effective cleaning.
Three years of laboratory testing confirms that the Xeros cleaning
process cleans as well as conventional washing while requiring 90%
less water and operating with a substantially lower electricity
burden. GreenEarth, which currently licenses its patented silicone-
based dry cleaning technology around the world, will have exclusive
rights to distribute the Xeros technology throughout North America
to retail dry cleaners. The partnership will enable dry cleaners using
both cleaning processes to have the lowest overall carbon footprint
possible.

nylon beads to tumble wash clothes with 90% less water than
conventional washers. The machine also uses significantly less
detergent and eliminates the need for tumble drying. They claim
that if all the homes in the US switched to their system, the carbon

The object of implementing is that as we see many countries
are facing the utmost problem of water especially the country like
India has recognized the need for it & thus got the machine which
is beneficial in many aspects like costs, electricity, water and many
more. Like wise the country wants to make the awareness in many
countries so it is planning to export it to the countries like
Zimbabwe, china & many more.

The machine consists of two drums³an inner drum

containing the clothes and the outer drum containing the beads.
During the wash both drums rotate, mixing the beads and clothes
together. At the end of the cycle, the outer drum stops rotating to
that the beads are spun out and captured by centrifugal force,
leaving the clothes behind.

Nearly 99.95% of the beads are caught using this method, and
a vacuum trap that is pulled out of the machine before unloading
captures the majority of the remaining beads. ´Whilst we are still at
a relatively early stage of this development, we have demonstrated
that it is possible to develop a commercially viable washing machine
that is capable of delivering all the benefits that Xeros expects from
its revolutionary technology,µ says Nathan Wrench, programme
manager at Cambridge Consultants. Xeros aims to have a
commercially viable product in production by the end of 2010. The
company·s first target will be the commercial washing market,
including hotels, care homes, and high street washing outlets.

The tiny nylon polymer beads are designed to gently but fully
penetrate into a large wash load. Only a small amount of water is
required to dampen the garments, loosen stains and create the
water vapour that activates the ''molecular magic'' of the beads.

6 + ?

?
?
c

?

The beads are then tumbled with the clothes, allowing the
polarizing properties of polymer to attract and absorb dirt. Once
diffused into the bead itself, stains are locked away from the
garment, preventing re-deposition.455 million litres of water daily,
enough water to fill 145 Olympic size swimming pools.

Y ?

? ?Y ?

There are multiple ways that Xeros will save your money. The
dramatic water saving; reduction in electricity through shorter
cycles; using less detergent. Even with the extra cost of the beads,
we project Xeros has the potential to save up to 30% of direct
operating costs. On top, there is the indirect cost savings of faster
through-put, less effluent and no need to tumble dry. Confirmed
cost savings will be validated accurately when final prototype
machines are built and proven in actual commercial laundry
premises.

?

?

Y? ?Y ?

Converting from conventional laundry systems will save 90%

of the fresh water associated with washing. Take US domestic
washing as an example, that translates into 1.2 billion tonnes of
water saved per year, equivalent to 17 million swimming pools.

Xeros reduces carbon foot print impact as well ² up to 40%

saving if reduction in tumble drying is included .That·s because far
less electricity and detergent is required than conventional systems.
This calculation also includes the environment cost of the Xeros
nylon beads which will be recycled, never just thrown away.

 + ?

?
?
c

?

Put another way, if all US homes converted to the Xeros

cleaning system, the reduction in carbon footprint is equivalent to
taking 5 million cars off American roads.

Almost all the countries in the world regulate foreign trade. In

import trade the importer has to obtain import license from the
controller of importer. He will also be allotted the quota. The
government of India has adopted a very liberal policy for issuing the
import license. Due to international agreement like ¶dunkel· India is
heading towards free trade.

2)? ? ? ?

?

The importer has to make the payment to the exporter either

in his currency or in any other standard currency. For this he
approach the central bank. He has to make an application under
foreign exchange regulation act. (FERA) to release the required
currency.

3)? ¯ ? ?+ ?

?? After obtaining the license quota and the foreign exchange the
importer places an order for the goods. The order can be placed
directly or through an indent firm or house. Indent firm or house is
a specialized agency that deals in import of goods. It is better to
place the order though the indent firm as it plays all the
responsibilities of importing the goods.

4)? ? ?? ?

?

Then the importer obtains letter of credit from the bank &
sends to the exporter. Letter of credit is an undertaking or a
guarantee given by the bank that whenever a bill of exchange is
drawn on the importer it will be honored to the extend of the value
mentioned in it.

5)? ?? ?

?

After receiving the letter of credit the exporter starts executing

the order. If he is a manufacturer he will start the manufacturing
work, if he is a trader he will start assembling the goods, he has to
invest into insurance policy, to make arrangements for transporting
the goods.

The exporter prepares a bill or the invoice giving details like

name & address of the importer & exporter, type of goods, value of
goods, quantity of goods, discount if any amount to be paid, mode
of payment etc.

7)? ?Y ?? ?

?

The exporter draws a bill of exchange showing the net amount

to be paid by the importer. These are two types of bill of exchanges.
It could be D\P bill of exchange (documents on payments) or it
could be D\A bill of exchange (document on acceptance).

8)? ?? ?

?

Clearing of goods means taking the delivery of the goods from

the custom & port authorities. There are many formalities to be
fulfilled so the exporter generally appoints a clearing agent to take
the delivery of goods.

9)? ¯
?
?

In the last the importer has to make the payment through a

bank draft or bill of exchange as per the terms & conditions laid
down.

Export means selling the goods outside the country. Export

procedure is lengthy & time consuming. Following are the steps
involved in export procedure.

1)? ? ?+ ?

Export procedure starts with an indent. An indent is a order

placed by the foreign buyer (importer) for the supply of certain
goods. In the order the importer specify type of goods quantitiy,
mode of payment, mode of delivery. Generally the exporter appoints
his agent of distributor to collect the order. If the terms &
conditions mentioned in the indent are favorable to the exporter he
accepts the order.

2)? ? ???

The exporter ha to obtain license & quota of exporting the goods.

Govt. EXIM policy (export import policy) imposes certain restrictions
on the export trade. All types of goods are listed whether controlled
or uncontrolled. Mystery of commerce announces the policy for
license in case of controlled goods. But it is easy to get license for
the uncontrolled goods. For this the exporter has to make an
application Export Trade Control Authority. He gets license along
with the quota is the quantity in which he will supply the goods to
the importer.

g + ?

?

c

?

3)? ? ??

After getting the license and quota the exporter has to obtain
letter of credit from the importer. This is required for the safety
and security of payments of the goods to be exported.

4)? ? ? ? ?

?

As per FERA ecvery exporter has to make the declaration in

the prescribed form:-
a)? The foreign currency earned through export will be disposed in
the manner and period specify by the central bank.
b)?The license bank allowed to deal in foreign exchange will make
though negotiation of the shipping document.
c)? The payment of the export will be approved method.

5)?¯ ?? ?

?

After completing the foreign exchange formality the exporter

starts manufacturing and assembling of goods.he will do
packaging, packing and marking on the goods as per the desire
of the importer.he has to invest in the insurance policy.he makes
arrangement for free shipment inspection.he has to secure ECGC
for covering the credit risk.

c

?

©)? ?? ?

Then he makes the arrangement for transporting the goods

from his place to importers place. For this he has to contact the
shipping company to book a space in the ship.

7)? ? -

If the goods to be exported are excisablethen the exporter has

to get clearance from the custom authority. For this he requires
following documents:-
a)? Shipping bill
b)?Letter of credit
c)? Original order of importer.
d)?Commercial invoice
e)? Certificate of valuation
f)? Insurance delaration.
Then he has to obtain mates receipt and on the basis of mates
receipt.he will be issued bill of lading. For all this purposes the
exporter can appoint forwarding agent.

8)? ? ?

Then the exporter has to dispatch all the documents required for
securing the delivery of goods.

9)? ? ?? ?
Exporter draws a bill of exchange showing the net amount payble
by the importer. Bill of exchange could be D/P or D/A.

10)? ?? ?

for collecting the payment of the export the exporter has to undergo
various banking formality.a bill of exchange can be drawn on
importer or his bank this is as per FERA.
