Learning Objectives:
This course familiarizes students with the basic concepts of MIS and E-Commerce with
special emphasis on their application rather than technical aspects.

This course demonstrates how information technologies can give


business a strategic advantage.

To understand basic operational, tactical and strategic applications of IT in


modern organizations.
To learn and appreciate the importance of information systems in business for
competitive situations.

The second track exposes students to some fundamental issues in the e-commerce
environment from security, legal, ethical, and international perspectives. With regard to
security issues, students learn about desirable properties for a secure E-commerce
setup.

Evaluation Method:
There will be a continuous evaluation of students at all levels. Each credit will carry 50
marks. Hence a 3 credit course will have total of 150 marks. Each course component
will be evaluated. This means that a course will be evaluated for lectures. For lectures
marks will be divided between mid-terms and end term examinations.
3 0 0 (3 credit course) will be evaluated for 150 (3 x 50) marks for lectures.
Maximum duration for final examination should be 3 hours.
The evaluation pattern for theory examination will be as follows:
