SURAH DUHA: 93
(a) Duha is the early Makkan surah revealed to Prophet Mohammad (SAW) when
revelations suspended for a time in the initial stage of prophet hood, which caused
distress and anxiety to him. For him it was a period of darkness, a spiritual night.
Surah Duha (daybreak) or the morning light was revealed as consolation to the
Prophet that Allah has not left him as non-believers said. The Holy Prophet is given
hope and news that his hardships will be over and he would receive more guidance.
The main teaching of the surah is that Allah always helps his Prophets. The ayat 5-7
give assurance to the Prophet that God is always there to help the Prophet in need.
So he should be grateful to Him, should be kind to the weak and needy, and share
the bounty of knowledge and guidance that Allah has given him. This is also a
message for mankind to follow his example.
(b)This surah teaches Muslims about blessings of Allah for the Prophet (SAW) and
tells the Prophet that he should share them with people. Just like the Prophet we
should also be grateful to God for the blessings he has bestowed upon us and
should not forget that Allah always help us when we are in need. The passage
strengthens our belief in the messengers sent by Allah . It tells that they are chosen
by Allah, and are guided and protected . In Surah Maidah Allah tells that how he
protected Jesus from Israelites ."and behold I did restrain the children of Israel from
you..."

15. SURAH KASUR:108

(a) This is a Makkan Surah revealed in the early stages of prophet hood when he
was going through most difficult time. Two of his sons Qasim and Abdullah passed
away and his enemies started taunting him by calling him Abtar, which is derived
from batar, means to cut off or the one who is lost to posterity for not having sons.
The passage confirmed Allahs mercy and generosity for the Prophet, how he
consoled him by prophesizing about abundance of blessings granted to him including
success in future. The passage tells him and all Muslims to show loyalty to Allah in
times of difficulty. The surah also announces destruction of his enemies. History has
proven that the Prophets name lived on through his message and his followers all
over the world, his lineage continued through his grand sons. Whereas his enemies
were so lost to posterity that even their children did not carry their fathers name.
(b) surah tells us the importance of Prophet Mohammad and tells us to love him
more than anyone else. Surah teaches us not to lose hope in Allahs help and favors
in difficulty. No matter what we are going through we should keep up prayer and
sacrifice and should trust Allah. Surah tells us to remain grateful to Allah for every
thing he has granted us and remember that the real reward will be given in the
Hereafter. The passage tells how Allah favours his messengers and endows them
with his blessings.
