In 1974, the Saptha (Seven) Kanni (Virgin Angels) Sannidhi (Temple) was

consecrated in Melmaruvathur AadhiParaaShakti Siddhar Peetam, Tamil Nadu,

India. As with everything else in Melmaruvathur, Saptha Kanniyar (Virgin
Mothers) and Their Temple is also very unique, transcends the traditional and
emphasizes the fundamental Universal Nature of these Mothers.
Readers can find lots of information on the net and other sources related to
Saptha Kanniyar (Tamil word for Virgin) under the topics of Seven Angels,
Saptha Matre, Saptha Matrikas, Saptha Kannikas, etc. Also, some of these
sources attempt to differentiate between Matrikas, Matre and Virgin Angels,
although in reality, They are One and the Same. At Melmaruvathur Siddhar
Peetam, the reference relates to the very Origin of the Seven Parivaara
Devathaas of Mother AadhiParaaShakti. They are Eternal Virgins and hence
the name Saptha Kannikas.
Interesting enough is the most mysterious (at least to early and present day
Christians) Revelation of St. John in The Holy Bible, which significantly
centers around the Seven Angels demonstrating how Preaching of Lord Jesus
Christ portrayed the Oneness or Single Concept of Supreme Universal Energy
that Creates, Sustains and Assimilates all forms and formless.

The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden
candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven
candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
- The Revelation 1:20, Holy Bible

In this paragraph the seven angels refers to Seven Virgin Mothers and
the seven churches to the Seven Chakras in our body, meaning the
guardian angels of the seven energy centers of human body.
Remember that AadhiParaaShakti is All Pervading Origin Energy,
which is the ONLY Creative Force that is SOLELY responsible for all
creations and their functioning. The Seven Chakras (which are
discussed in further details in Body is Temple page of this site) are
Centers in our body where seven different manifestations of One
Energy is concentrated each ruled and guarded by unique feminine
(Motherly Representing Creative Energy) aspect of AadhiParaaShakti.
They are Virgins as they are not accompanied by masculine aspect.
In all Hindu scripts and Devi Mahaatmiyam, one will note that Saptha
Kannikas are mentioned as Parivaara Devataas of AadhiParaaShakti.
Among the millions of Parivaara Devataas, these Seven Virgin Mothers
carry special place in AadhiParaaShakti as depicted in Sri Yantra (Sri
Chakra). The seven nodes in the middle line of the First Enclosure
(Prathama Aavaranaa) are occupied by the Saptha Kannikas,
namely Brahmi, Maheshwari, Kowmaari, Vaishnavi, Vaaraahi,
Indraani, and Chaamundi . The eighth node is occupied by
MahaaLakshmi. Traditionally, all the Hindu Temples in villages and
rural areas of India, these Seven Virgin Mothers are consecrated as
seven stones and worshipped as formless. These shrines are often
called Kanni Kovil meaning Virgin Temples.
Melmaruvathur AadhiParaaShakti Siddhar Peetam has a separate
Temple for Saptha Kanniyar in which, they are worshipped with
consecrated Idols of Seven Virgin Mothers. In 1974, Mother
AadhiParaaShakti Incarnated as Her Beloved Son The Eternal Guru
Shri Bangaru Adigalar called a bhakta belonging to Harijan caste
(Lowest class in Indian Caste System) and Ordained him to construct

and install the Sapthi Kanni Kovil in Siddhar Peetam. You belonging
to a caste that this society prohibited from entering the Temples,
go ahead and construct the Saptha Kanni Temple here
(Melmaruvathur AadhiParaaShakti Siddhar Peetm). The very same
society that outcast you, will come and offer prayers in the
Temple built by you.
On a particular day (exact date not known) in 1974 as chosen by
Mother AadhiParaaShakti, the Idols of Seven Virgin Mothers were set
up on their corresponding Peetams and Mother instilled Shakti (Power)
into each one of them with Her Divine Blessing Glance. At 3:00 Am on
the night of installing the Idols, a Yagna (Velvi / Yaagam) was
performed with Yagna Gundam and Kalasas. During the Yagna,
Mother AadhiParaaShakti (Beloved Son Shri Bangaru Adigalar in
Transcendental State, in which AadhiParaaShakti occupies the
physical body of Adigalar that He becomes She and She becomes He)
blessed by dropping Neem (Margosa) Leaves in the Yagna Gunda.
There were no Sahasranaamaas or other mantras recited except joint
worship poems. No Vedic Pundits were involved. In the presence of
Mother AadhiParaaShakti Herself, where and why is the need for any
religious scholars and priests?

This is a salient feature exemplifying that Melmaruvathur

AadhiParaaShakti Siddhar Peetam (Temple) transcends religion, caste
and Hindu Aagama tradition. The historic and revolutionary break
through into the traditional Indian caste system, challenging the
discriminatory and outcast practices could never be attempted to be
so successful by anyone else other than Shri Bangaru Adigalar who is
Mother AadhiParaaShakti Herself The Supreme Universal Energy.
