About MYRA
The MYRA School of Business is an innovatively designed business school established in
2012 at Mysore under the aegis of the Mysore Royal Academy (MYRA).The schools
avant-garde and architecturally acclaimed campus was inaugurated on November 4th,
2012 by Padma Bhushan Deepak Parekh, Chairman of HDFC. MYRA was founded by an
educationally enlightened group of thinkers led by Prof. Shalini Urs, Executive Director,
International School of Information Management and Prof. D. Shrijay Devaraj Urs,
Institute of Development Studies, both from the University of Mysore, who have
distinguished themselves across the academic life cycle of teaching, research,
administration, and accreditation.
MYRA brings faculty from top B schools of the world such as Wharton, Kellogg, IIMB,
Arizona State University, University of Cambridge and many others to bridge the quality
gap in Indian business education. And following the immersion learning model and a
global curriculum, we offer a truly international learning experience in India
The schools business education model has been developed in the context of the
emerging need for a relook at current business education needs, given the rapidly
growing focus on emerging market economies, where the current and future needs at
the bottom of the pyramid are yet to be effectively served. The schools learning model
offers an equitable mix of individual attention, academic rigour and experiential learning
with a view to develop future leaders with the requisite energy and passion to help
transform the business landscape. In a sense, MYRAs vision is to prepare its students
for a world yet to be imagined, to manage markets that are yet to emerge, and to lead
decisively in situations that cannot be predicted, without losing focus on the Triple
Bottom Line, so as to create lasting economic, environmental and social value through
the adoption of the best business practices.
MYRA currently offers three business education programs:
The AICTE(All India Council for Technical Education) recognized Post Graduate
Program in Management(PGDM)
The Post Graduate Program for Executives (PGPX)
Open and Customised format Executive Education Programs
The Founding Cohorts of both the PGPX and PGDM programs who graduated in 2014
and 2015 respectively, represented a kaleidoscopic diversity that is so typical of and
unique to India. Coming from 13 different States, 75% of the students in the PGDM
program were boys; 25% girls; 75% carried qualifications in engineering; 20% in
commerce and business management; and 5% in science. More than half had work
experience ranging from 1 to several years and their experience covered diverse
industry sectors ranging from aviation to automobiles, human resources to healthcare,
information technology to insurance, and tourism to textiles.
MYRA accepts GMAT / CAT / XAT / GRE / CMAT scores.

Student review
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher
demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." If you can fathom these words of the
celebrated author William Arthur Ward, you can relate to what is being practiced at
MYRA and which indeed is its USP.
I was really intrigued when I first learnt about the teaching methods followed at MYRA the Immersion and the Experiential Learning model. No wonder, the oddity of the
concept tugged the inquisitiveness of a typical Indian university graduate like me, and
introduced an element of curiosity. This curiosity led to an extensive research and I was
delighted at my findings and understood what MYRA is offering. Couple of months into it
now, proudly wearing the insignia of a MYRAcle(as we audaciously call ourselves) I feel
I have made one of the most important decisions of my life joining the MYRA School of
Business and I am happy for myself.
MYRA's unique offering and model exposes the students to a vast encyclopedic
knowledge and expertise of its globally acclaimed faculties coming from some of the top
universities and literally immerses one in a single course continuously for two weeks at
a stretch. During this time, we do not take any other courses and completely align our
focus to a particular management course that caters to 4 hours of class each day. The
Experiential Learning model emphasizes one to learn to use what he learns in his
subjects. It focusses on the experience one gathers while pursuing the course and the
post-coursework analysis of how we could have done better. The model is more about
absorption and discovering your inner self - as the Italian genius rightly said, "You
cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him find it within himself."
After nearly four years of working for Oracle, I was searching for a business education
that would be relevant to enhancing my profile. MYRA helped me get the kind of
education I was looking for. The pedagogical ways at MYRA helps a student bridge the
knowledge gap and prepares one for tomorrow's highly complex business environment.
The exposure the faculties bring to the class is exceptional, the aura the architecturally
superior MYRA campus creates is enviable and add to this the array of industry
interactions through our CXO Lecture series and the Pre-placement talks - the overall
experience that MYRA gives you, stays with you, for life!
It's only a few months of my MYRA life and I look forward to MYRA as an inspiring
platform to realize my true potential and guide me to the horizon I actually want to go to.

All my fear disappeared in the very first class of 'Managerial Accounting' by Dr.
GovindIyer, from University of North Texas.
Accounting is tough for some of us who are from technical studies. Dr. GovindIyer was
aware of this fact and he had his game plan on how to make us understand the
Accounting topics. He had shared the curriculum, relevant text books and case studies
on which the presentations were to be made well ahead of his first class. He taught us
the basics, alphas and betas of accounting in the very first class, to make us
comfortable with the topics. All his classes were interactive and the kind of examples he
used to explain the concepts were so simple and yet made their point.
Along with the regular classes, we were also supposed to present case studies every
day. Dr. GovindIyer used to make note of even the minute things about the way we
presented. He gave us individual feedback in detail & the areas of improvement. His
critical feedback has helped MYRAcles to address the area of problem and work on our
presentation skills.
Dr. Iyer is a fun loving guy and took active part in cricket. He came to our hostels on one
of the weekends to spend some quality time with us away from class, and guided us on
how to pursue our interests.
I was very fortunate to interview Dr. GovindIyer which gave me more insight about the
professor, how he feels about the class and his eagerness to teach. I look forward to
meeting him soon at MYRA.

The best institution for higher study.
Alumni and reunion celebrations each and everything is very perfectly managed by
this administration.
Reasonable fee, may it look like fee lit bit higher, but if you are getting excellent
education from this institution do money matters?

I was in Manipal for attending My GD/PI. Inspite of long boring journey from Khammam to
Mangalore(32 hrs) , my enthu is still alive to visit the college campus. My GD is scheduled on next
day. Hotel rooms are very very scare. With a persistant effort I found a room in fifth attempt. With
little refreshment I was on the way to visit my dream college campus. I have taken an auto and
thinking of my tom's GD session in TAPMI .Tomorrow is the D day in my life. With my little CAT
percentile(90), I have secured only One call from Good institutes. That one call is from TAPMI. I am
very confident(Slightly over confident), prepared well to attend GD. After seeing long standing
buildings, big big college campuses my heart started beating with higher speed. I was remembering
the Photographs of my dream college(Photographs in college brouchure). Suddenly Auto came
to halt and driver said "12 rupees sir".
I was stunned. The college had only Two buildings. The campus is not reflecting any signs of
money being collected in that collge as educational fees.Buildings look like Govt muncipal
Buildings(poor maintenance). My Diploma college has 10 times bigger campus than this PG college.
I have almost decided not to attend GD session. Still made an attempt to go inside. While walking
inside, I am cursing my self for deciding the college status by virtue of size of Buildings. I
am optimistic about the computer lab, library facilities, Professors.
I went to Library first. Its a good one.Old style library with more than 50 shelfs. I am quite
happy with the books available in the library. Then I turned to Comp lab. It has more than 50 PCs.
I can only Figure out 4 or 5 P4s out of them. I can say NOT HAPPY. Professors are very Busy in
taking interviews from students. I am back to my room and completly recharged my Body by giving
5 hrs of rest. Evening I have Visted temple town UDIPI. Excellent temple it is.( Visitors discipline is
much more attractive than GOD). As usual U can see some foreigners in the temple town with big
cameras and RUDRKSHA in their hands. If any one is visting UDIPI, please have breakfast in any
hotel. It tastes pretty good. I went back to my room. On the way I bought some books related to
recent BUDGET highlights.
Next day I am in the college with out any Enthu to join this college. I met a girl in opening
ceremony meeting. This is not right place to discuss about that part. Coming back to track, I have
done well in GD.I fumbled a little in panel interview. Finally I am sitting in front of Director for final
interview. After the formal enquiries, he said "If u got a call from TAPMI, apply for Educational
leave and come" . I am quite happy with those words. I thought my seat was confirmed( I am again
wrong. I didnt secured a final call). I went back to Bhadrachalam( My place) with that hope and lived
hapily for one month.
Finally frens,
I can say Join this B school If u r meeting the following requirements.
1) If u have only this call
2) If U r very rich
