The purpose of this assignment is to enhance your understanding in the technologies used in food
processing and food preservation techniques, as well as the current issues related to the food area.
ASSIGNMENT TOPIC:
1. Compare and contrast article of your choice from any websites or reference books.
After reading the articles from websites, use your favorite internet search engine to find
more information on the GMF debate. Based on your understanding from reading and
lecture during class, write a short report on your views about GMF. Your report must also
answering the following questions:

What current health factors and concerns need to be considered when developing
new food products?

(iii)
Students will be assigned into groups and each groups will consists of 4-5 students.
(iv)
The assignment must be the work of each students in the group and not shared or
completed by any other students from other groups.
(v)
Different groups may work together but must not submit similar or identical
assignments. You must be able to show that you worked independently.
(vi)
Groups will be penalised for plagiarising from other groups assignment or from
other sources.
(vii)
Each groups will be given 15 minutes to present their assignment and another 10
minutes will be allocated for Q&A session.
(viii)
There is no limit to the number of slide. However, each group must remember that
the slides prepared can be presented according to the specified time. Group that does
not adhere to these requirements will be given penalty.
(ix)
This assignment will contribute 15% of the students overall carry mark.
