Bold Goals for 2015 & 2016

Winning the Keystone XL Win, Targeting Fracking Waste
Assuming we win on Keystone, it will be the first time a President has rejected a fossil fuel project
based on climate and the work of Bold Nebraska made that happen. We will bring that same energy
and strategies to the fracking waste fight that is erupting in our state and could bring huge amounts of
pollution to our land and water.

Creating Renewable Energy: Made in the Neb and Clean Power Plan
In order to get Nebraska and individuals to create more renewable energy, we have two programs to
bring focus on this goal. Our Made in the Neb project is a map of individuals, farmers, ranchers, small
businesses and restaurants who are producing local food and clean energy. The idea is as more people
see how easy it is and profitable to create clean energy and produce local food, more people will jump
on the bandwagon. The Clean Power Plan in an effort by the EPA and the Obama Administration to
clean up utilities and power plants. Each state must write a plan and Nebraskas plan, by law, will need
to show a 26% reduction in carbon pollution. Our intention is to create a huge citizen engagement to
force the state to reach that goal with renewable energy projects that are small and community-based
instead of large natural gas projects which is NPPDs plan at the moment.

Bold Boots and New Energy Voter Guide

Continue to energize our base of supporters to turn their passion of key issues into voting power. The
Bold Boots is a project to train and organize volunteers for political campaigns--both ballot initiatives
and GOTV of key voters like Latinos, young people, progressive rural families and women. The New
Energy Voter Guide is an online and offline reference for progressive and independent voters to know
where candidates stand and to know which candidates Bold and our allies have endorsed.

Independent Redistricting Commission: Getting Big Money

Out of Politics
One concrete way for us to get big money and entrenched lobbyists out of our politics is to ensure
a fair redistricting process. Along with partners like Common Cause and state table partners, Bold
will take this issue up in 2016 as a key target for a bill in the Nebraska Legislature. If we keep the
status quo, we will continue to have only a handful of seats that are truly competitive at a time when
Nebraskas politics is clealry shifting.

The 2015 Bold Nebraska Supporter Survey was conducted online and at local events during
MayJune. Survey respondents were asked a series of questions about which direction and
what issues Bold Nebraska should take on after Keystone XL, voted on their top priorities
from a list of options, and provided written feedback.
