6. Are those around you who claim this more meek and
heavenly than others? p. 3, Para. 5, [VIEWS].
One more passage I will now quote, and then on this point
I shall have done. It is that passage in relation to which
Paul says to the Corinthians, "Having therefore these
promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all
filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in
the fear of God." 2 Corinthians 7:1. The passage is this:
"For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said,
I will dwell in them and walk in them; and I will be their
God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from
among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch
not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be
a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:16-18. p. 18,
Para. 1, [VIEWS].
And when I see how many bearing the name of Christ seem
wandering among doubts and fears, and groping in thick
darkness at noonday, falling before spiritual enemies whom
they know not how to vanquish, and weeping over repeated
commission of sins which they know not how to overcome, I
long to say to such -- "Watchmen! let thy wandering cease,
[Hasten] [go quickly] thee to thy quiet home, Traveler! Lo!
The Prince of Peace -- Lo! The Son of God is come!" p. 26,
Para. 1, [VIEWS].
